If you have a high end pass rusher like that, he will take away snaps from the other guys. What happens to Solomon’s snaps if they added Crosby?!? Epenesa? Landon Jackson?!? Pass!! Everybody eats!!

Maybe we could trade away multiple guys to free up space for 2025, but it would come with catastrophic dead cap in 2026. Trading Rosseau for example would save a few mil against the cap this year, but 28mil dead cap in 2026.

You can never have enough pass rushers. Not to mention, Bosa is on a 1 year deal, and Rousseau is a #2. Upgrade your number 2 for a number 1.

Seriously though, if thats the route we wanted to go, I'd rather try to pay the cheaper price to rent Hendrickson.  Riskier, but less requirement overall and leaves the team plenty of options/first dibs if it made sense to give a deal.

 

Beastly pass rush is the one single piece that I think could give the most drastic returns on defense.  That said, Im very much on WR Train as priority #1
