I saw Bewitched.  Wow, talking about bad acting, bad screne play, bad everything.  Holy crap 3 movies this summer  SW, MR and MRs Smith and Bewitched.  All terrible.  How can they put this crap out?

You paid money to see it, didn't you? That's how they can put bad movies in theaters. They know people will show up to watch regardless of the quality of the movie (and in the last 10 years, its been like TV...nonstop crap).

That's not entirely fair. There's been a TON of good movies that have come out in the last 10 years. For example:

Fight Club

Saving Private Ryan

Hey... Stop Stabbing Me

Lord of the Rings

Pirates of the Carribean

Spider Man (1 and 2)

Shrek

etc.

And the soon to be released, Serenity

There are always going to be crappy books, crappy movies, crappy games. Always has been, that's nothing new. You just have to learn to find the good stuff.

So in 10 years you came up with a list of about 8 movies. Of which only about 4 were good movies. A couple sucked IMHO and a few were barely watchable. Like I said, very little ability seem to be coming to the theatre any more.

No, I didn't actually go through and list every movie over the past 10 years. Did you not notice the "etc" at the end?

And only 4 were good, two sucked, and a few were barely watchable? Care to label each for me?

EDIT: You may want to read this thread - plenty of movies listed that are great, all released in the last 10 years.

Pirates was a great movie

Shreak was good (no acting involved however)

LOTR were for the most part good

Spider man was watchable

Private Ryan was watchable, but too be honest really not that good of a movie

Fight Club, sucked and was a horrible movie

Never even heard of the other one.

Think about it there really has only been one great movie probably in 10 years.

Just because it's animation, doesn't mean there's no acting. Voice acting is, in a lot of ways, more difficult than "real" acting. LOTR is 3 movies, so there's five that you consider good/great.

I have no idea how you can say Fight Club sucked... To each their own though.

And "Hey... Stop Stabbing Me!" I threw in there to see if people were reading -- but it IS really funny, for a no-budget movie.

So you're saying Pirates is the only great movie created in the last ten yeras?

Well looking at that topten list only, I have to say I thought most of them sucked too. However there's lots of good movies that aren't on that list. A few of them are great.

as for your highlighted ones... I think I'm even harsher than you. although I'd have included "My big fat greek wedding," and "Saving Pvt Ryan".

Daddy Day Care also didn't make a top 10 list but I thought it was a good movie as well.

367737[/snapback]

Why do you care what's in the top 10? Is this the extent of the films you go to see? There are TONS of good films made every year. You just need to seek them out instead of having the Hollywood marketing department decide what's worth seeing for you. There's an entire world of cinema out there, if you're tired of Hollywood check out what the rest of the world is producing (or hell, check out what's coming from the US outside of the top 10 lists).

Well, you can say you thought those movies were good, but that doesn't make the other ones not good. I agree with some of your bolded ones, but a few I don't consider good movies at all. And some of the ones you considered not good, I think are great movies.

It's all a matter of opinion. I could go through those lists, and we'd disagree on over half of them.

Wow, you definitely seem to have a bias against the comedies. Also, I do not see how you can say that Saving Private Ryan, Good Will Hunting, There is Something About Mary are not great movies. Besides, the movies that are in the top 10 typically are there because many like those films.

Pirates of the Carribean

Spider Man (1 and 2)

Shrek

Sorry, dude but Spidey 2 was as bad as they come. It was nice of the director to take some time off the wishy washy stuff to put a little action in there.
