Mark Vader
Although the month of May got off to an early poor start, the box office was saved by George Lucas' Star Wars Episode III. This Memorial Day weekend's offerings of The Longest Yard & Madagascar has helped also. Now the summer season is moving to the heart of it's lineup with the month of June, which has a little bit of everything for every moviegoer. 4 movies open on a Wednesday this month, 2 of them with great blockbuster potential. After 8 years since the dreadful "Batman & Robin" was released, the Dark Knight returns to the big screen, with a new director(Chris Nolan), new Batman(Christian Bale), and an A-list cast(Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, & Katie Holmes). If Batman purists can accept the tank sized Batmobile, this franchise should become very profitable again. Steven Spielberg & Tom Cruise team up once again, this time for the sci-fi thriller "The War of the Worlds". It's been over 20 years since Spielberg dealt with aliens in his movies, but they have been some of his most memorable. America's hottest tabloid couple, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, are paired up in the action comedy, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". 2 TV Series get the big screen treatment as Nicole Kidman & Will Ferrell star in "Bewitched", and Cedric the Entertainer is Ralph Kramden in "The Honeymooners". The older adult crowd will get to see Ron Howard & Russel Crowe back together in the boxing biopic "Cinderella Man". An early Oscar contender. Tween girls will get their fill this month with Lindsey Lohan in "Herbie: Fully Loaded", Hilary Duff in "The Perfect Man", and Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". Robert Rodriguez releases his latest family film with "The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl in 3-D". There's the skateboarding pic "Lords of Dogtown". Finally for horror fans, there's the 4th Romero Zombie flick "George A. Romero's Land of the Dead", and the very bloody, very gory French thriller "High Tension". Here's the schedule and trailers, enjoy: June 1: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. http://sisterhoodofthetravelingpants.warnerbros.com/ June 3: Cinderella Man. http://www.cinderellamanmovie.com/index.php Lords of Dogtown. http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/lordsofdogtown/ June 10: The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D. http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=trailer&id=1808628262 High Tension. http://www.hightensionmovie.com/ The Honeymooners. http://www.honeymoonersmovie.com/ Mr. & Mrs. Smith. http://www.mrandmrssmithmovie.com/ June 15: Batman Begins. http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/flash/index.html June 17: The Perfect Man. http://www.theperfectmanmovie.com/index.php June 22: Herbie:Fully Loaded. http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/herbie/ June 24: Bewitched. http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/bewitched/site/ George A.Romero's Land of the Dead. http://www.landofthedeadmovie.net/ June 29: War of the Worlds: http://www.waroftheworlds.com/ There you have it, see you at the movies. buckeyemike
Without question, the can't miss film this summer is War of the Worlds. I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, but I can't wait to see what Spielberg has done with a classic from the 50's. Mike

IBTG81
You forgot Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, opening July 15. It stars Johnny Depp as Wonka and Tim Burton directs. Can't wait to see that, as I love both Burton and Depp.
UConn James
You forgot Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, opening July 15. It stars Johnny Depp as Wonka and Tim Burton directs. Can't wait to see that, as I love both Burton and Depp. 347777 If it weren't for all the queer-ass musical numbers and a pretty weak actor for Charlie in the original, I would say it's one of the best movie adaptations of a children's book. Gene Wilder was perfect for Wonka. I'll wait to see what they do for the sets, but I don't think Depp playing him as a Michael Jackson wannabe (as he said he based the character on) will make it better. I rarely did before, but I don't go to see movies at the cinema anymore. Netflix it, or for a few bucks more you can buy the DVD, 6 months later. Tux of Borg
You forgot to list the Pam Anderson and Paris Hilton home movies coming out this summer. I've seen star wars and the longest yard already. I'll probably go see Batman and War of the Worlds before the end of the summer.

Can't wait to see that, as I love both Burton and Depp. 347777 I just saw the previews for that. I like Burton and Depp too...but this looks awful. Depp seems to play Willy Wonka like Michael Jackson. Plus...frankly, Gene Wilder was perfect as Willy Wonka. I can't see anyone else playing that part, even Depp.
