Surgeries that permanently change their bodies. Surgeries that sick bastards like you advocate for. Hopefully a regular suicide hotline is adequate for these young people suffering from mental illness. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11063965/ Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not Any issues you have with this published data should be directed to the NIH. As I’ve explained to you 1,000 times, this is due to stigma and isolation stemming from being transgender and not accepted by society. The paper even acknowledges this: “Transgender individuals have a higher prevalence of depression across several age groups, often due to life experiences that include discrimination, harassment, violence, misgendering, and enacted stigma that may generate poor mental health outcomes and harmful behaviors [4,7,8]. It is widely accepted that depression puts an individual at higher risk for suicidal ideation and suicide attempts” The paper even says that banning gender-affirming surgery isn’t the solution, it’s providing more care after the surgery. “Their results reveal an improvement in patient well-being, with high satisfaction levels, reduced dysphoria, and persistent mental health benefits even decades after surgery.” You keep using this paper as some kind of gotcha when it’s obvious you haven’t read it.

What you quote comes from a study of FIFTEEN people. Now that’s significant! There’s no gotcha involved. The data, not feelings, reveals outcomes associated with these surgeries on young people are horrific. The paper spells them out. Thankfully people like you that see them as appropriate and even moral, are dwindling by the day. Soon your thinking will be anachronistic.

That’s generally how it goes. Obviously the authors felt the need to show another side to the story. Are you impressed with the study of FIFTEEN subjects? As it is remarkably small, I am not. You advocate for an abomination that hurts young people gravely. Someday you will probably ask yourself why. Hopefully.
Homelander Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Can you imagine being born into this world knowing something is different about you and then growing up in constant fear because a political movement is told to be outraged by your existence? I honestly wonder if threads like this, which target some of the most vulnerable people in our society, are helping anything… or just making that fear worse. As seen above, the MAGA movement seem less interested in engaging with facts or realities, and more focused on consuming a steady stream of outrage - regardless of the cost or truth behind it.
