I was probably one of the only investigators that didn’t have childhood trauma of my own. The number of foster parent applications that don’t get past a very basic background check is astronomical. I wasn’t involved in that process but that’s what I know just off the top of my head. Being a male, I got pushed some of the worse cases. Just how it was. I worked in the CAC after a while. Pedophilia is rampant. We have no idea how many there are, but it’s a lot. There is no such thing as a non-offending pedophile. But the system can’t keep up with all the kids. It just can’t.
