I was hoping they would select him in the 2nd.

They will get someone even better in next year's draft, my friend.

There were lots here who wanted him in the 2nd round. Joe was a bit of an outlier in wanting him at #9. DK landed in a great place for him. Seattle's offense is as perfect of a fit as you could have wanted. He has had a really good rookie year. Although he isn't even the best rookie receiver to come out of Ole Miss in the 2019 draft.

mckenzie 197 yac on 23 receptions for 8.5  yac/ catch

singletary 193 yac on 28 receptions for 7.0  yac/catch

knox 148 yac on 27 receptions for 5.5 yac/catch

beasley 304 yac on 60 receptions for 5.0 yac/catch

brown 197 yac on 71 receptions for 2.8 yac/catch

Interesting that Brown has such a disparity on YAC compared to the others. Interestingly, there are 35 QBs that have had more than 150 passing attempts this season. Josh Allen ranks 31st in YAC by his receivers.

that team stat is bad....31st yac.....points to a need for a #1 WR

the individual john brown low yac could be argued both ways.

pro: he's double teamed alot, therefore defender on him right away

con: goes down easily or runs out of bounds alot.

con: josh's trouble with long ball

If he's getting 1st downs does it matter?

YAC .. a 10 - 15 yard catch is good

the 3 extra yards - that's the criteria to look at?

If his average was 3 YPC then I'd worry

one of the points that can be made is that YAC is helped by size and strength of WR's to get more yards.

these WR's as a group are small

therefore, Josh's stats are being hurt by low yac

It can’t all be out on the size of the WRs. Scheme and execution also matter. Smaller WRs can break games wide open with an accurate throw off a rub. That doesn’t happen very often here. Part of it is Allen being inconsistent; other aspect is we tend to go for chunk yardage, especially with Smoke
