The Best Player in the MAC

#4 - Buffalo Bulls

Khalil Hodge is an absolute monster and looks to be a legitimately good NFL caliber 43 Middle LB

He has speed, size, can run with TEs and RBs as well as stuff the run

I think he is a Top 90 pick and should be the MAC defensive player of the year

He is a stud, always around the ball

Here I thought this thread was going to be about his team mate,

It's a pity UB lost backup QB a Drew Anderson #12. He transferred to Murray State so he could start. He was terrific let year when Jackson was injured.

I already have a thread on Johnson.

He is a monster but I think Hodge is a bit more valuable and a tad better overall

both should be top 3 round picks

He wanted to start. No chance with Jackson...

now the DC at QB is Jackson, Vantrease, and then maybe the Buffalo Boy Matt Myers... Maybe he surprises and wins the #2

This is going to be his RS SR year, he is draft eligible next draft

will definitely be drafted in the top 5 rounds but I think he is top 90 talent

...interesting.......he could fall right into McBeane's wheelhouse, let's say in the 3rd, unless he gets fired at the end of the year (COUGH).......

  • 2 weeks later...

Bulls have 14 starters coming back of a .500 team...  They get  cupcake week 1 with Delaware State, then face a tough Temple team on the road.

-Thing is, they're terrible on the road, so week 2 will be their first real test.

I wouldn’t say they are terrible on the road lol

its always tougher to play on the road... lost  to Minnesota by only 10 on the road... was beating army all game and ended up barely losing

Lost to akron by 1... a few plays here and there and they are different outcomes

he also were down to their 3 string QB for 2 ganes

ATS (against the spread) -They're actually alright... With 14 starters coming back, (plus Anthony Johnson) that trend should continue...

However with games @ Chippewas, @ Bobcats, and @ BGSU,  a DD-win season may be asking too much...

@ Temple 9/8 and @ Rutgers 9/22 will tell us a lot about this team.

I think Temple and Army are big tests and will tell you a lot about the Bulls...

i think they should be able to beat Rutgers in a good game

Good QB, good Oline, good RB and receivers and TE...

and an improving D led by Khalil Hodge

A QB out of Miami (Ohio) won SBs and will easily be a HoF entry

You can pretty much count on getting cornholed at least once by MAC officiating. Buffalo will always be "not one of us" in that conference. But then again, the MAC should want their teams to succeed on the big stage. When MAC players go high in the draft, it's a recruiting pitch for other schools.
