row_33
------------------------------------ i can't even remember the context but last month a game showed a shot of the Cincinnati Redlegs logo from 1957. The announcer said "gee, i guess the name Reds was chosen a lot closer to today then i ever thought." nobody was around to tell him that was the team name 1953 to 1959 due to the Communist Red scare, Cincy went and changed the team name because of it... sigh..... SinceThe70s
Not something new, but something rare: With a homer, a win and an appearance in the outfield, Michael Lorenzen pulled off a feat last accomplished by the Babe. https://www.espn.com/mlb/recap?gameId=401076823

SinceThe70s
An obvious one, but: The away team wins every game of the World Series. That's a lot of unhappy folks leaving the stadium the past week. The unpredictability of baseball/sports is a big part of the appeal for me. SinceThe70s
File this under: Coronavirus Boredom, Yankee Hatred or General Bemusement, but has a 33 year old ever been invited to an Old Timers Day? If I'm Phil Hughes I'm all in to rub elbows with Yankee legends on Old Timers Day. https://nypost.com/2020/03/18/phil-hughes-shocked-by-yankees-old-timers-day-invite-im-33/
