With Halloween just a few days away, movie studios are ready to bring back the tent pole titles for the Holiday Season. The month of November is loaded with high priced action and adventure, but it also has it's share of family fare and some drama for the Oscar buzz. Big titles, big budgets and big names are what it's all about this month, as is usually the case. Comic book rivals DC & Marvel face off with two big titles being released only two weeks apart from each other. Industry observers will be paying close attention.

Disney & Marvel continues it's Marvel Cinematic Universal series with "Thor: Ragnarok". Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Benedict Cumberbatch & Anthony Hopkins.

After the great success of "Wonder Woman" this past summer, Warner Bros. & DC decided to put aside other origin stories for later and give us the grand payoff now with "Justice League". Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Henry Cavill, Connie Nielsen, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Robin Wright, Amber Heard, Billy Crudup, Ciaran Hinds, J.K. Simmons, Jeremy Irons, & Jesse Eisenberg.

Disney & Pixar bring us the animated film, "Coco". Aspiring musician Miguel teams up with charming trickster Hector on an extraordinary journey through the Land of the Dead. Starring the voices of Edward James Olmos, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Gael Garcia Bernal, Cheech Marin, Anthony Gonzalez & John Ratzenberger.

20th Century Fox & Director Kenneth Branagh bring us, "Murder on the Orient Express". A lavish train ride unfolds into a stylish & suspenseful mystery. From the novel by Agatha Christie, Murder on the Orient Express tells of thirteen stranded strangers & one man's race to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again. Starring Daisy Ridley, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench, Kenneth Branagh, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Leslie Ododm Jr., Derek Jacobi & Willem Dafoe.

Mark Wahlberg & Will Ferrell return in "Daddy's Home 2". Brad and Dusty must deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays. Also starring Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, Linda Cardellini & John Cena.

"A Bad Moms Christmas", follows our three under-appreciated and over-burdened women as they rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. Starring Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, Cheryl Hines, Christine Baranski & Susan Sarandon.

Julia Roberts & Owen Wilson star in "Wonder". Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. Also starring Jacob Tremblay & Mandy Patinkin.

Denzel Washington is "Roman J. Israel, Esq.". Roman Israel is a driven, idealistic defense attorney who, through a tumultuous series of events, finds himself in a crisis that leads to extreme action. Also starring Colin Farrell, Carmen Ejogo & Shelley Hennig.

In the animated movie, "The Star". A small but brave donkey and his animal friends become the unsung heroes of the first Christmas. Starring the voices of Steven Yeun, Tyler Perry, Ving Rhames, Kris Kristofferson, Zachary Levi, Gina Rodriguez, Christopher Plummer, Kelly Clarkson, Patricia Heaton & Kristin Chenoweth.

Finally, in "Polaroid", High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the mysterious Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn't take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end. Starring Madelaine Petsch, Javier Botet, Kathryn Prescott & Mitch Pileggi.

Thor and maybe justice league seem worth watching. Didn't have a problem with the first daddys home but had to ask when i saw a commercial "was a equel necessary? Did anyone really ask for it?" I would rather see a sequel to The Other Guys. Also don't think we needed a sequalbto bad moms.....

The Will Ferrell movie that I want to see a sequel to is Step Brothers.

I'll see Justice League in the theater because of "Wonder Woman" Gal Gadot. Probably see Thor in the theater too.

Your monthly movie threads are great!

Thank you very much.

All good questions.

I would also add, is anyone really asking for a new adaptation of "Murder on the Orient Express"? The cast is remarkable, and Branagh is a good director, but I tend to wonder how excited people are for this movie.

We'll see what the box office numbers say.

i didnt even know they were doong a remake until i saw a commercial for it a few days ago. The movie does look like it might be well done, but also one you sit there and has to ask if there was a demand for someone to remake it or just no new ideas and plenty of actors lookig for work?

It does look like a good cast, but at this point, the second I see Johnny Depp listed in a cast, I immediately pass on seeing the movie.

scissorhands was alright, never saw the others. I wasn't thinking back to young Depp though.....

I see.

You should check the others out. "Sleepy Hollow" is very entertaining, and I think "Ed Wood" is the best performance Depp has ever given.
