The Pegulas had the ultimate say in the new HC. And of course McDermott wanted Beane-he works well with him and Beane is a much better overall football guy than Whaley. Doug was at the bar with a couple of other guys and I over heard him say "F@#K THE BILLS!" I wish I could I stayed a while longer to hear what he had to say. You stated Mcdermott started working with Whaley and then thought, "Oh, time for a change." McDermott claimed Pegulas came to the realization it was time for a change AFTER the draft! The Buffalo News spells out the facts, Mcdermott was getting his people in. If you like that, great. But don't change the facts or the timeline.
