It sets up other plays later in the game, and also keeps the other team honest. Also 4.9ypc isn't bad at all for a running play, if you think about it. Oh, and he know HOW TO slide, unlike EJ who seems more like a young giraffe trying to slide into second. Did he never even play T-Ball? It's just so awkward!
