We had just stopped them at their 16 yard line with 10:39 to go in the fourth. The defense seemed to play the next two plays after the fumble like they were completely demoralized, and KC played like they had just seen the opening. As a result, our Win Probability Added from PFR when from 82.8% to 22.3% in less than a handful of plays. Up to that point, all the plays threads have talked about, Bryce Brown fumble, Henderson twitching, Manny Lawson not staying home on the Charles TD run, A.Williams unnecessary roughness, Play-calling,dropped passes, decisions etc. the Bills had OVERCOME them! For some reason the House of Cards collapsed at this point. My take is it still is a cultural problem with the team. We need to be able to maintain mentally the whole game. The attitude of "how many things can wrong and then panic", must be replaced for the whole game. This is transition moment in the game and we didn't recognize it and finish the deal. Furthermore, the two units on the field recovered, and we regained our chances of winning. With 4:35 to go , we had just stopped them again, forced a punt and McKelvin made a nice return to their 25. Orton and Woods then combined on a nice pass to the 16, followed by a first down run by Summers. We had a 58.2% chance of winning at the point. Then four straight incompletions! Yeah Orton missed a couple that could have been made. It is here that the sidelines can be brought into question for putting the offense in the remaining situation due to there decisions. After the fourth incompletion, WPA was at 8.9%. In summary, all the units had their moments and controlled most of the game. In the end, we still don't know how to finish it out mentally. We have to hope the Pats have a bad stretch of games and we win 5 of the next 7. There's no way we win a WC with our conference record, even of we go 10-6. Sucks it happened in such an important game that kills our WC chances, but the division is still possible. NE has a tough schedule coming up. I kind of felt like the biggest momentum changer was the TD run on 4th and 1. Up until that point their offense couldn't do anything against our defense and even though they were still losing it just seemed to change the way the game was going IMO. It is now going on a full decade with no answer at QB or even to play offense of any kind at a high level for more than a few games. This team is deeply flawed from the top down. Watch Seattle. They ran read option all day against the Giants and Russel Wilson ran to keep the defense honest. Ej should have ran more but everyone beat him up for getting hit too much. Now we switch to Orton and throw fourty times a game with a line that can't pass block. They finally break thorugh with a very good rushing game and then throw the ball four times inside the 20. How sane is it to think the Bills could win on the road at New England if the division were up for grabs? The season is over. There only shot was to win four in a row. I think with better redzone offense this is a playoff caliber team. Plenty of good teams have made the playoffs consistently with an ok offense and a stellar defense. Yes, the Chiefs are a team that doesn't win with amazing offense. What they do, however, is protect the football as well as anyone.
