USMCBillsFan
Just wondering how big a hit you guys think Sunday Ticket will take should they lift the black out rule. I know some live out of market and get it for that reason and the fantasy players will probably keep it. But I'm curious if Directv is stressing about this potential ruling. Max997
i dont see how this impacts DTV at all considering you dont get locally televised games with the ticket anyway and that wont change as local broadcasters want you watching loclally broadcast games on local channels so you get local commercials Edited September 30, 2014 by Max997
GG
DirecTV would benefit from the ruling because hypothetically it could show more games on Sunday Ticket as there would be fewer local blackouts.
Captain Caveman
yeah, it's been said but blacked out games are not shown on Sunday Ticket so there shouldn't be an impact either way.
buffalopdc
No impact... You cannot watch games that are on regular TV with the ticket. It is annoying especially if you want to watch a local game on your phone that would be on TV.
USMCBillsFan
I learned something today. Didn't realize this since I've had seasons since I retired and moved back to WNY. Stupid question then I guess...
Maddog69
There was talk that the FCC rule might have little effect because the NFL and the networks who own broadcasting rights can agree not to broadcast games that aren't sold out over the local airwaves. The interesting part is that Cable providers could pick up out of town broadcasts and play them in local areas and basically then create their our NFL Ticket stations. I don't believe the bolded is correct.
dollars 2 donuts
I love my Sunday ticket for the great offenses I get to see around the league. Seriously, though, I loved watching Rodgers and his no-name receivers and TE in the game against the Bears this weekend.
