As someone that claims no knowledge of the nba cap system - does he essentially hold all the cards as far as dollars go? I'm not 100% sure either but I think you're correct in that wade holds all the cards. My understanding is Wade will opt in for exactly that reason. He's got a season or two left, deserves to retire a Heat, he most likely won't opt out or take a discount. Unless he hands em up this year then Miami would be able to rebuild easier.
