Don't mistake this as some film snob critique. I love studio movies and am looking forward to this one. It's just sad that what was the art form of the 20th century is pretty much over. This is just further proof of it.

Seems like a good thread to add one of my favorite Kinks tunes:

Winter Soldier was very good. Surprisingly so, considering I expected much less.

You definitely need to see Captain America first, it will really help. Seeing Iron Man 1 and 2 will help a lot, too - probably more then the Avengers. Iron Man 2 has many tie ins.

Scarlette Johanson still did not really fill her role that well. Didn't look as pudgy in this one, looked a lot better but did not fill the role like I wished she did. I think it is by direction, not choice.

I agree with this. Seeing the first Captain America does help a lot, especially with the scene involving Toby Jones' character.

I saw captain America last week. I agree completely. They did some real good work with that one. It kind of felt like a Bond movie to me.

Oh and the wife did go with me. I only had her watch the first one and no other marvel movie. I think it was enough. She didn't recognize the winter soldier reveal at first but as a whole, she enjoyed the movie. She liked it better than the first.

That's good.

I really liked the bumpers at the end. Great set-up for the next Captain America movie and the next Avengers movie.

I know its not this month but I can't wait for How To Train Your Dragon 2. It might beat Frozen for my current favorite animated movie. It will never have a better song, though, which I can sing nearly all of.

I didn't get to see those. They were not available via the format I used.

SPOILER ALERT

The first bumper involved Baron Wolfgang von Strucker(Thomas Kretschman) consulting with his crew members about the war between S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra. During their talk we see that they have obtained, what I think was one of Loki's weapons. At the end of the bumper we see them talking about using "The Twins", whom they have locked up. We then see the twins Quicksilver(Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and The Scarlet Witch(Elizabeth Olsen).

The second bumper showed Bucky visiting the Captain America exhibit, and reading the dedication about himself.

Yeah, it was Loki's sceptre, the one he used to kill Coulson with. As for the second bumper, I saw the movie twice and missed it. Must have not waited long enough.

Yeah, you have to wait until the entire credits have passed in order to see it.
