EJ is Mentoring Tajh Boyd

Recommended Posts

For those who like Tajh in the draft... I don't think the Bills draft one unless a good one falls to a later round but you never know.

EJ and Tajh grew up together, I believe. Jim Kelly is in the video too.

EJ Manuel is right out of central casting.

Dude's body is tailor made to be an NFL QB. I really hope he can put it together.

If he does he won't just be the face of the franchise he'll be one of the faces of the NFL.

I think you can wait for Tajh Boyd. He's RD6-7

1 9 Buffalo Mike Evans WRF Texas A&M or Taylor Lewan OT Michigan

2 41 Buffalo Gabe Jackson OG Mississippi St or Lamarcus Joyner CB/FS Florida State

3 73 Buffalo C.J. Fiedorowicz TE Iowa or Dakota Dozier OG Furman

4 105 Buffalo Bryan Stork OC Florida State or Boseko Lokombo OLB43 Oregon

5 137 Buffalo Max Bullough ILB Michigan State or Joe Don Duncan TE Dixie State

6 169 Buffalo Tajh Boyd QB Clemson or Terrance West RBF Towson

7 201 Buffalo Antonio Andrews RBF W Kentucky or Ben Gardner DE43 Stanford

EJ mentored Winston quite well. I see a coaching career in his future.

I think Winston could have been mentored by a brick wall. That kid is special.

EJ is headed to ESPN/CBS/NBC/ABC/NFLNetwork/FOX after, hopefully a 20 year career and at least 3 Super Bowl rings.

Dude was injured 3 times in his rookie year--including preseason.

6 or 7, Astro? That's hard to swallow. I'd gladly take the kid in the 4th and if they were worried about it, the third.

Can't think of a better thing to have than a talented backup with a skill-set similar to your (possibly injury-prone) starter. If they have a good relationship, all the better.

Minuses:

  1. short (6'1"). Can't teach height.
  2. torn ACL that required surgery in HS, 3 injuries in college
  3. slight wind-up slows delivery
  4. erratic as a passer and more comfortable outside the pocket like Manziel, rather than in it like Manuel
  5. relied more on Watkins, Bryant and Hopkins to bail him out
  6. terrible Senior Bowl. 7-of-16 for 31 yards and an interception vs his future defenders. Packers' scout said "based on what I saw, he's not draftable"
  7. unspectacular Combine. score of 5.45 (backup) usually means RD5-7
  8. for a running QB, was only the 7th-fastest at Combine
  9. Kiper says fifth or sixth round for Tajh Boyd (that was a month ago)

Pluses

  1. good leader
  2. good pro day, made all the throws 66 of 67 (only incompletion a dropped pass), again using great WRs
  3. back to back 11-win seasons
  4. Looked good in 2012 Chick Fil A Bowl
