Owners pass 'Hard Knocks' rule at NFL Fall Meeting

"A source in the room told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport the league passed a rule Tuesday during the NFL Fall Meeting that will compel one team per year to participate in the HBO/NFL Films joint venture, "Hard Knocks.""

This is great news for me as a fan of the show, and the criteria for selection makes the Bills a viable candidate.....

Next year will be a good time to go to San Diego, Oakland, Atlanta, or Cleveland. Teams at a pinnacle or on the rise that will need some boost. Cleveland would be worth watching, IMO.

Does this mean the team will be required to comply?

I believe so, so based on their rules....

All organizations will be eligible with the exception of those that have a first-year head coach; teams that have made the playoffs in at least one of the last two seasons; and teams that have participated in the previous 10 seasons.

Last year playoff teams : Colts, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Patriots, Broncos, Seahawks, Redskins, Vikings, Packers, 49ers, Falcons plus this years playoff teams would not be on. In addition, previously seen teams on the show in the last 10 years (according to Wikipedia) are the Chiefs, Cowboys, Bengals, Jets, and Dolphins. We'll have to see if any teams get a new coach over the off season.

So right now, depending on the Playoffs and coach firings, the Bills have a 1 in 16 chance of being on the show next year.
