the 1-3 at 40-49 yards is the most disapointing stat.

True, although Feely, Reed and Tynes aren't much better.

Who's this Todd Peterson dude? Don't know much about him.

Id definately take Jeff Reed in a heartbeat over SINdell.

I'm gonna be that guy and say I would like the Bills to bring Steve Christie back. The man knows this buffalo weather like a book. Kickoffs are the only issue. Moorman maybe?

2004:

1-19: 1/1

20-29: 8/8

30-39: 6/8

40-49: 4/7

50+: 3/4

78.6% completions

Those are not bad numbers. I like the 3/4 from 50 yards. They guy was solid when he was here and he may have slipped a little bit but I think he's an upgrade from lindell.

Wouldn't make too much of Feely's TB stat - he plays in the Georgia Dome.  But he would obviously be an upgrade for us, as would most of the guys you listed, and of course Nugent.

Do you recall back in 2001 when feeley hit like a 50 yarder to beat us.

HORRIBLE.

I hate that tool almost as much as SINdell.

I'm with you on this one - Christie was money when he was with the Bills. His stats are even more impressive when you take away the horror show day he had in GB earlier in the year. He missed from 30, 33 and 49 yards that day in what were described as awful wind conditions (the GB kicker didn't attempt a fg all day.).

Take away those three attempts and he's at an 88% completion rate. Not bad for a guy the brain trust thought was finished four years ago. I would take a shot at him as a free agent pick up in a minute.

They didn't think he was finished, he was hurt in the second to last preseason game and was expected to miss some of the early schedule. The team wanted to place him on IR in order to keep him for the season after. Christie didn't want to miss the entire season so decided to reach an injury settlement and let himself shop his wares when he was available. In retrospect the biggest mistake was not letting him go but not keeping his second replacement, (Shayne Graham) now with Cinncinatti and one of the most accurate kickers in the entire league.

Another note, Martin Gramatica might also be available as doubt he'd want to stuck with the Colts as a kick off specialist after this season as am sure some team (including us) might want to bring him into camp to compete for the regular kicking job.

Except for that nasty "San Diego" incident.

I was trying to think if there was any other occasions where he cost the Bills a game - other than the SD incident, I thought there was a game against Indy (last game of the season - 1994?) where he missed a potential game winner at the end of regulation. If that was the only two times that's not a bad run for ten seasons.

i hate to do it but.... *bump*

i dont know how many times we could of had a 43 yard field goal, but punted or faked a punt insted of getting 3 points.

has any team ever franchised a kicker????

i say give that damn pats kicker what he wants. he could be the best FA pick up for us this of season.

i was just doing some looking on NFL.com, and 1 stat stood out above the rest...now i didnt do any calcs, but it looks as if heres the real problem...

the league average looks to be about 10-12 FG's attempted from 40+ yards on the season...goes as high as philly with 21 FGA's from 40+

the bills only attempted 3 from 40+ this yr...therein lies the problem...
