So....to get this straight...what was happening is that the Pats* were able to tap into the communication system so that the coach could talk Brady through every play, like he's a robot. Brady's success came from his ability to synthesize the coach's words and make a split second throw based on his coach telling him who is open. That's what you are saying. You should have stopped with your first statement. Are you effing kidding me? Have you played the damn game, let alone the QB position? Do you know what SPYGATE was? He was later promoted to Offensive Coordinator under the Pats. Labeled a young offensive mastermind, McDaniels was hired as head coach of the Broncos where he went out of his way to obtain Matt Cassel, a player who was entrenched in the Pats' "system." As head coach of the Broncos, McDaniels also hired one of the fellows from Spygate who taped Pats' opponents. Later, the two were involved in their own mini-Spygate scandal, which was quietly swept under the rug by the NFL and the media. McDaniels once admitted that the Pats actually practiced cheating. The Pats have the whole thing down to a science. Yes. Videotaping other teams signals and defenses along with down and distance. So yes, they probably often knew what defense others were in. There's no disputing that, nor it's a doubt there's an advantage. But that's not what you said. Nor is it a guarantee of success. We could implement the same thing with the Bills and there is no way Fitzpatrick even dreams of the success Brady enjoys. Why? Because Brady is an elite talent. Fitz is not. But his offensive line is the thing that has made him a hall of fame player. Really, I can't tell you how many times I've seen him stand back there for 7-8 seconds and throw a TD. Brady doesn't matter. You can put Matt Cassell back in there and the Pats will win just as easily. I sure didn't see any difference between the two when Cassell filled in for Brady in '08! And Cassell was a rookie that year who never started a game in college. It's easy to be a good QB when you have someone telling you in your ear which receiver is open as well as the other team's defensive schemes. Read above to your posted question. Yes. I cheered when Brady went down for the season and hope he retires tomorrow. I am sick of playing him. But as a football fan, not just a Bills homer, I appreciate the talent and the will to win he brings every effing week. Did you see when he ran for that first down? He fired the crowd and his team up. I pray that, sometime in my lifetime, we have a QB here with 75% of his talent, because it will be 100% better than the crap we have trotted out there for over a decade.
