I posted this elsewhere, but it's appropriate for this thread:

Do you ever get embarrassed posting this kind of paranoid garbage? The guy that wrote this is a complete ass who is trying compare progressives to communists and fascists. The part that really made me almost fall out of my chair laughing is that he called it a "case study".

Be like Ike... You dirty libs/progressives! Where would he fit in today?

"His politics just do not fit with the perceived political needs of Republicans of today," said Jim Newton, editor-at-large of The Los Angeles Times and author of "Eisenhower: The White House Years," published last fall.

Could be a joke of the last 60 years:

The best "republican" president = Bill Clinton

The best "democrat" president = Dwight Eisenhower

:o

Eisenhower Republicans

"(Reuters) - Former President Dwight Eisenhower is hardly mentioned during the Republican campaign for the White House this year even though the reputation of the World War Two general-turned-politician is rising among a record number of scholars studying his presidency.

Some 800 scholars, journalists, graduate students and others poured through Eisenhower documents last year in the wood-paneled research room at the Dwight Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene, Kansas.

Eisenhower is the subject of several new biographies and he is consistently rated among the 10 best presidents in surveys of historians. In Washington, a memorial to Eisenhower is planned on the National Mall.

"Eisenhower is being rediscovered," said Karl Weissenbach, director of the Eisenhower library and museum in the plains of central Kansas, 160 miles west of Kansas City."...

"...Under Eisenhower, taxes increased and the rich were hit especially hard. On the spending side, Eisenhower oversaw construction of the Interstate highway system and the St. Lawrence Seaway, launched the space program and expanded Social Security eligibility..."

From "Profile of a Progressive":

"This progressive philosophy can be boiled down to one simple selfish character flaw on the part of Karl Marks and his followers; it all boils down to covetousness and envy. The progressive hates all who have succeeded on their own. The progressive has no faith in the individual to make his/her own decisions and certainly has no stomach for the consequences of free choice. The progressive lives by emotion and detests logic. The human brain is a powerful and amazing creation which gives the human being the power to reason and discern fact. The progressive thinks in bumper sticker statements which have emotional significance; however, when put to the test of logic or critical thinking, are easily debunked. The progressive cannot debate on factual issues and quickly spirals down into personal insults and worthless generalizations of racism, homophobia, and bigotry."

Sounds like an "Occupier".

Karl Marks? Who's that?

Teddy Roosevelt was a progressive... Same with Eisenhower above. Two bastions of the Republican party in the last 100 years. Now go further back to Lincoln.

Hey, I'm a JFK conservative myself. Doesn't the paragraph I posted describe an occupier perfectly?

Yet... They most likely can spell Marx correctly. That is why I am not taking what you posted too seriously... Even the most ardent conservative with half a brain spells it right... This fella, I am not so sure of.

Maybe he's hooked on phonics. Regardless, do you disagree with the content of the paragraph I quoted?

In the Reuters link, the reporters "poured over" Eisenhower documents.

Grammar is more and more becoming a lost art. When papers laid off, who do you think went first? That trickles down into a society that learns more and more not to care about accuracy.
