You would think even though he was 2.5m/yr they would keep a guy who gave them some insurance and experience. I guess Ralph can buy some more artwork or something. They will shy away from the rent-a-veteran approach and try to find a diamond in the rough. Cheaper approach and it lets them develop the players they have.
