Las Vegas

My girlfriend and I are looking to book a vacation to Vegas in February. Anyone have any good suggestions on which hotel would offer a quality experience for a reasonable price? We will probably be spending 4-5 nights and while money isn't a huge concern, we'd like to keep it under $750 per person.

I've checked Orbitz and it seems like the Mirage may be the way to go.

Seriously? Priceline.com can probably get a vacation package (with flight) for under $500 a person

I stayed at Ballys last time (had a blast) - its in the middle of the strip across from Bellagio and Caesars.

STAY THERE!

There is a band down in the casino every night playing top 50 radio hits - Black eyed peas, Katy Perry, Kesha, etc...

It's cheap and high class

The pool is awesome too

Planet Hollywood is by FAR my favorite casino/hotel on the strip, and it's fairly cheap. Young, hip, fun vibe.

Check out http://www.smartervegas.com/ for deals on hotels, shows, etc. Also check out www.travelzoo.com

Mirage is nice and has a great pool but is really crowded. People wake up early and stake their claims to chairs. The new Cosmopolitan seems to be getting good reviews. I'm not sure what your scene is, Vegas has something for everyone.

I was at the Cosmo on opening day, pretty cool place, but small. They make a big, strong drink tho!

Not a huge PH fan, but most of that opinion was formed when it was the Aladdin, only been once since it was Planet Hollywood. Just read this book about Vegas: Winner Take All it made me dislike Harrah's (now Caesars I guess) properties. I already was not a fan of most of the places (mainly due to 6/5 blackjack) but this confirmed it. I'm going to try to stay at MGM-Mirage properties in the future, though I may go back to the Flamingo cause it's cheap and it was the first place I stayed in Vegas (prior to it being a CET property). Would check out Cosmo or Aria maybe in my next good around. If I was loaded I would stay at the Wynn.

Going to Vegas in 2 weeks for the superbowl. Staying at Bally's this year. Never stayed there before. Usually stay at Harrahs but they kind of jerked me around with the comps. They wanted $200 a night to stay. Bally's with my comps I am paying $70 for the whole weekend so we will see how it goes. Great thing about Vegas is there is something to do for everybody. If your going next month the temps will be a little cool for the pool however some pools are heated & open all year round(like the mirage). I usually hang out in the sports book & play a little black jack/craps. I have taken my wife there a few times & it is still alot fun, however it is more fun with just the guys. You should definately be able to do better then $700 per person, especially if your willing to go during the week as opposed to the weekend. I would definately stay on the strip. I like the area around Harrah's the best because I love the Mirage/Ceasars/Venetian/Wynn but the southside is pretty good to Toward MGM/NYNY etc... I would stay away from the slots, they are nothing but a ripoff. My wife plays the slots When she goes & it annoys me to no end because it is just like flushing money down the toilet & she kills my profit margin. Play the table games, bet a game or two in the SB & just have a good time.

Good to be back, miss everybody's ugly mugs around here. Things are going good, kids are good, wife is good, job is good. Going to Vegas in 2 weeks so looking forward to that. Get out of this miserable weather for a little bit. I see things have changed around here a little bit.

I really like the Harrahs properties myself. I know theres a lot of anguish forward them sure to 6:5 bj, but its everywhere now. I don't play bj, haha.

I like harrahs properties because I've always received amazing customer service from them, and even my low rolling ass is taken care of with free rooms, free pool cabana party to celebrate my wedding engagement, etc.

I have never been to Vegas, but I go to Biloxi all the time. My favorite hotel/casino there is the Beau Rivage. Its sister casino in Vegas is the Bellagio. Just based on my experiences in Biloxi, I'd highly recommend considering the Bellagio.

Only one suggestion...make sure you go downtown at night to see that Fremont Experience.
