Continuing to play Edwards hurts the development of the rest of the of

The Bills are bad and will be for the year, probably longer but that does not mean we should continue to go nowhere on offense. By continuing to play Edwards the Bills hurt the development of the rest of the guys on offense, especially the receivers. We have a relatively young group of players who will regress under Edwards. Put Brohm in and see what happens and if he doesn't produce with some passing yardage then bring in Fitzy but with Edwards in no one gets to develop except for the punting team. If Fitzy cant get it done bring in a free agent, someone who actually throws the football. :wallbash:

Doesn't matter. He'll be hurt within 2 weeks anyway and then we'll see one of the other guys. You saw him yesterday. Dude could barely get up from a routine hit. I'm not saying I want to stand in there and take those hits, but I'm not getting millions of dollars either.

I didn't say anything about winning games, I am not sure the Bills can do that or very much of that with any QB on the roster or free agents. However, with that being said a different QB could move the ball, sustain drives and develop the young guys on the offense. You know, give the rookies some experience and give the coaches more to look at when they evaluate the talent at the end of the season. At this rate you simply do not know what the receivers can do because the ball is never thrown to them. Rookies essentially remain rookies in this offense. Develop your offense by sustaining some offense any way you can. This simply can not happen with Trent Edwards. If you win a couples games by doing this then that is a bonus.

if you believe that, then you keep Trent in for the smackdowns coming the next two regardless of who is under center, then bring in #2 to win games and get the team to start rallying behind him. New boss same as the old boss next two weeks in my opinion.

Yes, Johnson and Parrish need another QB to drop/lose balls for.

Ok, never mind. Never throw another pass again, seems to be working great so far.

Look, I'm with you--Edwards needs to be benched. If he starts in NE, Chan Gailey should get fired from yet another HC job.

But Parrish, for one just isn't any good as a WR--look at him yeaterday. Gets ball simply taken away from him after one catch and just falls down after two other catches. What's the next QB going to do with this?

is garcia still available

hes 41 years old and in Omaha

I was more of the thinking the only hope of a qb developing on this roster is Edwards although very slim. Why not just play it out with him then bring somebody in next year and move forward. No point to Fitz or Brohm they are the same guy as Edwards only less annoying because they haven't played as much. But when you consider the other young players who have to grow Edwards prevents them from getting better in that light I could see switching to Fitz. We are two games in one against a SB caliber team we weren't going to beat with Peyton Manning playing quarterback. I was hoping for 2-2 after 4 games which is still possible and 1-3 is very possible. Next four the schedule is a a little lighter. Your 2-0 chiefs bear and bucs will be 4-4 half way through hopefully us too.

I agree the receivers are suspect, all the more reason to expose them to further the rebuilding process. There just isn't much to evaluate the younger guys on and if things continue the same way we still wont know about the receivers. I hope no one chimes in with the "the receivers are never open" crap. Watch other football games and see QB's thread the needle into coverage or call a play to throw to the back shoulder of a receiver in coverage. It can be, and it is done routinely in the NFL while the QB is under pressure.

Do some of you guys really question Chan Gailey's talent evaluation and think Brohm has a shot at being a better QB than Edwards? Guys there's a reason he was on the practice squad at Green Bay, and is the 3rd string option on one of the worst teams in the NFL! Give it a rest. The QB position desperately needs a shakeup but the answer is not currently on the Buffalo Bills' roster.

Yes, Johnson and Parrish need another QB to drop/lose balls for.

There's not a WR in the league that doesn't drop a ball or two during games. It happens. The problem here, is they only get one ball thrown their way for the entire game. So that one drop is like 100% (or maybe 50% at best) of the passes thrown their way.

Watch the Colts last night? Wayne dropped an easy pass that wowuld have been a huge gain, early in the game. It was horrible! Oh that's rght, Manning kept throwing to him all game, and Wayne had a great game. Funny how that works.

Again, you can't' be a good WR when the QB is afraid to throw the ball to you.

Your QB, regardless of who it is, is not hindering the development of this team at this point. WRs can learn to run routes, OL can learn to block, LBs can learn to cover in the 3-4, and they can still figure out how to get a pass rush even without a QB in the game. This is an evaluation process this season, and this is not unexpected at this point. It's ugly and painful as a fan, but it is not unexpected. It's two games, and Green Bay is expected to challenge for the SB this year... did you really expect the Bills to look good yesterday? No one was going to come in here and turn this around overnight. 10 years of futility cannot be put at Nix and Gailey's doorstep with the expectation that they would sweep it up in two games. Putting bandaids on it will only slow the whole process down. In the words of Tyler Durden, "Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken." The Bills are going to have to hit bottom before they can start to climb back up, and that means deciding once and for all who to move on from and who has a future on this team.

I am not looking for the savior of the franchise at the moment, just a QB that can sustain drives and give the young offense some experience at moving the football in the right direction. Develop the young talent so if the Bills ever do get the savior (maybe in next years draft) the young guys will have some meaningful experience under their collective belts, or new talent can be brought in. And yes I do question Gailey's talent evaluation as well as Buddy Nix, give me one reason why I shouldn't? I haven't thrown in the towel yet by any means but I'm not overly impressed thus far.

The pass to Parrish that was intercepted should have never been thrown!!!

100% agree with you, and I actually celebrated a little bit when I thought he was injured on the one play. Saw Fitz warming up and got all excited, only to see Trent stay in and lose the game as usual.

I don't totally disagree with your statement. Still, what do we have to loose by giving Fitzy and Brohm a game or two to play? We are not going to win them anyway.
