Throwback Bills
I have flown back to Buffalo the last couple of years. Started when we played Atlanta (Vick). Here is what I recommend: Get nice hotel, maybe one with gambling. Then visit/ eat: (I have stayed at the Seneca Niagara) Teds Hot Dogs Falls Beef On Wick Downtown Bars for wings go to Platters in NT for orange chocolate and Drink Genney Cream Ale Fly out Monday so you can gamble Sunday after the game. Wooderson
Anchor Bar for the best wings and atmosphere, Duffs if you like them swimming in a pool of sauce. That's how I like 'em.

Why would you recommend someone drink a horrible beer just because it's some sort of a joke/novelty in the region? Drink Flying Bison or Saranac or Southtowns IPA! In the future I'll just tell everyone to ask you first! he seems to have quite the chip on his shoulder... he hasnt been to the Chip Strip since 2002 but states that it hasn't changed.... 8 years is a long time, and things do change... and Genny may be a joke to you, but its been around quite awhile, so i wouldn't exactly call it joke... the company would disagree as they cash their checks..... PromoTheRobot
PTR - seriously store bought prepared food tastes better than food made at a tailgate? I guess you've never been to a good tailgate then..... I guess YOU'VE never been to a Wegman's then!!! Look, everybody does tailgating different. Some people want to the whole ritual of lighting the grill, etc. That's too restricting for me. I don't want to haul a grill around. I don't want to deal with the mess. I don't want to have to pack a hot grill or dump hot coals when it's time to go to the stadium. I'd rather go to Wegman's and get an assortment of goodies: beef-on-weck, wings, pizza, subs, desserts, etc, park, eat and be done with it. Maybe save something to bring into RWS for half time munchies. That's tailgating the smart and painless way. PTR
Stussy109
sundowners -canada strip club right over border seneca niagara casino niagara falls ny niagara falls pizza and wings (worth hitting up duffs or anchor bar) chippewa st. wegmans subs niagara falls outlets I park in a private lot and highly recommend it if u can do without 500 drunken adults pretending to throw a football. takes 5 minutes to leave vs 1 hr and 35 minutes. if you want the full experience, park in the stadium lots. i go to so many games i prefer to chill out listen tot he pregame shows on the radio, toss the football, eat some hot dogs, and go into watch pregame warm ups. If its a 1pm game get to the gates by 12:00-12:15 so u can watch the pregame warmups.

That would explain why you dismiss them. Anyone here would tell you Wegman's is not your typical supermarket. I've been to plenty of tailgates and unless you have Wolgang Puck or Mario Batalli cooking I doubt it's any better than what I can buy. HurlyBurly51
To each their own. I've been to Wegman's plenty, and if that's gourmet then standards are pretty low. I mean it's OK, comletely average, but nothing to brag about. I'm not believing my ears when people rave about, for example, their subs?! Wow, Buffalo has a TON of great sub places, but Wegman's isn't in the top 100 IMHO. And it's not just the subs I'm talking about either - wings, pizza, etc. You can do better. But the fact of the matter is that you can get a damn good sub at a friggin grocery store which happens to be a well respected place for their quality etc. People who arent near one drive 45 mins to shop there (see DC area folks). You dont like wegmans thats cool but you cant name 25 better sub shops i bet
Talley56
This definitely helps. My only other question would be are there any areas of Buffalo that should be avoided?

And I do like Wegmans, just saying in my opinion their tailgate type food is just average at best when compared to other options. As for 25 better sub shops, any mom 'n pop shop in local neighborhoods are better, which would easily add up. JMO.

Well if you're looking for a Steak and Cheese or Chicken Finger Sub then no Wegmans is not the place to go, but if you want a great cold cut sub or wrap Wegmans is definitely at the top of the list IMO.
