So Today is the Day, The Government Takeover

Recommended Posts

Yes, and that's an 12 year old's tactic. Most here hated the spending and the war decisions of the past administration.

Most can also do basic math and see that, bad as the deficits were under Bush, Obama's administration is running even worse ones.

Basically, he's not just a 12 year old. He's a 12 year old that needs a remedial math class.

Many here spent a lot of time and energy defending the last administration for many of the same things they are now attacking the current administration for.

(Yes it's a badly constructed sentence, but it's still a true statement.)

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that you can't handle getting your own arguments thrown back at you. I find the selective memory humorous.

Joe, I think we are way beyond the traditional Dems vs Rep's battle. Both sides are doing us no favors. I agree the war was total bs. But the bleeding of cash that this war causes can be stopped relatively easily. How easy will it be to stop the bleeding on this bill? What the problem is with this healthcare thing is a fundamental change in relationship between the feds and us the citizens. They no longer our servants they are our master. They tell us where to go and how to get there. Personally, I can't stomach it. Thats why I'm so bitter on this board. I have no personal gripe with anyone here I just hate being told what to do with my money. I get enough of that from my wife!! But thats only one of the things I hate about the bill.

And you need a history class. How convenient to forget that a large portion of the spending was done to prevent what most economists agree would have been an economic depression based on events that occurred before Obama became president. Unfortunately, Obama wasn't blessed with the previous administration leaving a surplus, or even a stable economy. He did what was needed.

You guys are so over dramatic it is ridiculous. Wait a few years and you and every one else will be loving it.

If by saying "a few years" you mean "three," there won't be anything to love because it'll still take a fourth year of collecting taxes before most of the provisions in the bill take effect.

But hey...CBO says it's deficit neutral. And Obama says our health care costs are going to drop by $2500 per household, and 3000% at the employer level!

So it's safe to say...if you don't like this bill, you hate babies and old people. Not to mention you clearly have no respect for Gooden Wilfare and all the great clauses he wrote.

And you need a history class.

So do you. A really, really long one that explains a whole bunch of things in really remedial terms. And because you're an idiot, even that won't matter.

None of the rest of your post is remotely true, though I don't expect you to understand why that is because you're nothing more than a walking gag reflex.

He's got a point, y'know. I mean, Clinton left a surplus and Bush spent right through it.

And CBO said the Bush Tax cuts would lead to a $300,000,000,000.00 surplus by 2010. Because the government never, ever lies or uses techniques to make things appear much different than they really are/will be.

The great part is how much these tards whine about Enron and the like when the government is doing things that make that scandal look like a sidewalk lemonade stand.

Which simply proves the point that all of you partisan shills are responsible for !@#$ing up this country.

IIRC Clinton's final budget was balanced on paper, but skipped expenditures it knew it would have to make. Only two I really remember were disaster relief of any sort and the monitoring of Iraq.

And you are so over trusting of our bumbling government it's ridiculous. I always error on the side of being cynical.

Be cynical , just don't be chicken little like most around here running around saying were doomed, socialism, government run health care (It is still run by private companies but dont let facts get in the way). It's pathetic to see the hysteria around here. I believe in the government that it will do the right thing. It's republicans I am now very cynical and distrustful of.

No, it isn't. It's a gigantic amalgamation of things both public and private. You're the one not using facts.

It's pathetic to see the hysteria around here.

Then leave.

I believe in the government that it will do the right thing.

Then you're an idiot because there's NO DIFFERENCE between the two parties.

They were in such a rush to pass this POS, saying that people were dying, thousands of them every day.

So why does this POS not fully kick in for 4 years??

What about those thousands of people that are going to die within the next four years because they dont have Health care/insurance?

I guess they dont care about those people.

Freakin Retards.

Government now is a business not a public service. These two are in business together. I guess its like a prize fight where the paying fans pick a winner and cheer for them. Both fighters get paid. Dems and Reps are the same. At the end of the day they both get bribes. Both get awesome perks. Both get awesome healthcare and pensions. We get !@#$ed. The dems are taking it to the next level. Reinforcing their market, they are increasing the dependency on them thus making them more important to you and your life. All Dems think this way and an alarming amount of Republicans. The only way out is for the Republican party to embrace true conservatism again.
