I am thankful for a number of things: I just had the chance to spend a couple of days with my mom and dad. they are now retired and volunteer missionaries that travel around the country assisting in building churches. Since their schedule calls for them to be in different places every six months i don't get to see them as often as i would like. They are now in their 70's and in excellent health. I love them and miss them....so i was thankful to spend the last few days with them. I am thankful for an absolutely WONDERFUL wife! She is in large part the reason I am pleasant to others. Like Jack Nicholson said in that movie..."she makes me want to be a better person". I am thankful that I am gainfully employed. Good pay and average benefits. I am thankful for my brother who begins chemo and radiation for rectal cancer on Monday. He has a great attitude. He has inspires me....much the way my wife does on daily basis...to be a better person. I am thankful for the freedom we have in this country. The United States of America is the GREATEST country in the history of civilization. (IMHO). I am thankful that when i go to bed at night,....i don't hear sirens..and bombs and screams of suffering.
