Yeah, those Saints fans hiding in that dome can't handle that harsh January weather in NO--good point!!

Really they can't handle the weather down there... Why do you think they built the dome... There have been 3 SuperBowls held outside in the New Orleans (Tulane Stadium):

SB IV: 61 °F (16 °C), heavy overcast, wet field, tornado watch issued for area.

SB VI: 39 °F (4 °C), windy. This remains the lowest game-time temperature for a Super Bowl game to date.

SB IX: 46 °F (8 °C), cloudy and windy.

Wow... 39 and 46 degrees F? Tornado watches... :wallbash:

My point is that everybody thinks the weather in NOLA is just peaches... In fact it is brutally hot in the summer and and just plain sucky at times in the winter... Case in point above... Not one game had great weather... Out of three chances at old Tulane Stadium, that is just bad! The South?

Not every year. It's in Miami this year.

So what are the elements that you look forward to affecting the SB this year? A warm cloudburst? Blinding sunlight?

Is montonously beautiful weather an element (SD)? How about a "dry heat" (AR)? Due for a hurricane in next few years (Tampa)? Endless flat terrain (Dallas)? High crime (Bal, DC)?

PHX still closed the roof. HOU @ Reliant has a roof. Dallas it snows at times... And Hurricane season goes only until November.

Really... Most can't handle the weather done there... Please explain the use of so many domes or retractable roofs in the south... Only areas of FLA/ARZ/S.Cal escape the hit and miss weather. And S.CAL maybe year round.

hahahaha---the dome in Dallas isn't for the snow, bro. Neither is it in AZ. The heat.

To suggest that the weather in NO is so harsh in winter that their fans wouldn't come out unless they were domed is an instant credibility eraser.

I never said that. There are domes there FOR the SuperBowl. Just too iffy taking a chance in Dallas, NOLA, ATL in January.

You want a SuperBowl, you build a dome or retractable, no matter where you are unless you are in FLA, S.Cal or Hawaii.

Rain and wind suck too... Remember Miami for the CHI-INDY SB?
