They don't think Shanahan would ever come to Buffalo

someone needs to ask Howie how his Raiders are doing attracting top coaches. LOL

what Sharp said was its not a good fit because unless a team is committed to winning a Super Bowl and nothing else, Shanahan wont work.

i dont have a problem calling Bills out for less than full commitment. Although it's not true as a blanket statement Bills aren't committed, the one glaring issue has been head coach. So that leaves open the door to a big name guy like Shanahan to say we've got a decent of core of good players, we expect to draft high next year, we have money to sign FA's, we have a committed fan base ... what we need now and are committed to is a football guy with a track record coming in and running the show to to bottom

it can be done

In other words, he won't go anywhere where they won't spend money for the players he wants. Thats what they mean by a comitment to winning. Every team is trying to win, its just how much are they willing to spend to try and win, thats why I am not surprised to hear that he was interested in the Washington position

Shannon Sharpe said Shanahan has an appointment this week with Buffalo and that the only thing he cares about is that the organization has a total commitment to winning. If they can convince him of that things should be good.

Well I guess that takes us out of the running for Shanahan....Mularkey was right when he resigned and said the reason is this organization is not commited to winning.....turns out he is right no matter what Ralph says today.

IMO this means Mike is going to talk with Ralph and see if Ralph is willing to sit his old ass in the box, pay the Bills, and have absolutely no say in the operations of the franchise. Ralph must swallow the fact the he knows jack sh** about building a franchise, Hire a top tier coach he must sign the checks and disappear. Let the early 90's go ralph you lost them all anyway, let them go.

Just watched Boomer Esiason on CBS and Bradshaw + Howie Young on Fox say with absolute certainty that Shanahan would never "lower" himself to sign on with the Bills.

Probably means he'll sign next week.

why wouldn't they? We have no cap issues, lots of money to spend if Ralph will allow it, and some good young players that can be very good with the right coaching and development. We do not have a severe lack of talent on this team like Detroit, Cleveland, Kansas City, Oakland, Saint Louis, and some of the other horrible teams in the NFL. We have talent here, just perhaps not in the right places to fully utilize the surrounding talent(aka No QB).

Yeah, they are in a much better situation than they were the last time they brought a big guy in (Donahoe), they were in cap hell and devoid of veteran talent. I like to make the point that the Bills have good players at every unit, but no good units. Get a coach to coach the guys that are already on the roster that can be players and then fill out the roster with new players to complete the units. We really need to face facts, that while many a good point is made by the media in regards to our meddlesome owner, the fact still remains that the media is now by and large comprised of Tom Donahoe's BFFs and a bunch of former players who are bitter because the lowly franchise from upstate New York blocked them from ever winning a Super Bowl and now find some satisfaction in seeing them at the spot the think they always deserved, and don't want to ever see them get back. I say we stick to the Schefters and Grahams of the world on this one.

K.C. must not be that low on talent.
