  1. 1. After Micheal Oher, the tackles in this draft were garbage. 2. McKelvin is a future top CB in this league, maybe even this year. Greer is not the answer for anyone as a starting CB. He just isn't that good. 3. Hopefully, drafting some of these DBs the last two years is a kick in the ass to McGee because his play has slipped since Jauron's first season here.
  2. Byrd is typically ranked right around where we took him. i doubt he would have been there later. If he becomes the starting FS by the end of the season, I don't think anyone will complain. Just because we have taken DBs in all the drafts does not mean that the position does not lack someone with playmaking ability.
  3. Yeah but the line has disappointed the last two years despite the size of it. I like how we got alot nastier in the interior and with Butler playing RT. Butler is big enough to play RT.
  4. Yeah, they are systematic with there picks. It just seems like they target a couple of guys each year in rounds 2 through 5 that they want, stockpile picks each year to use as ammo to go get them when the time is right. I still think that they are going to take Casey. He is there type of player. I could see him going to Indy as well.
  5. I like Nelson, but would've preffered this kid. He is going to be a special player I think. Makes some amazing catches.
  6. wouldn't hate it. The type of TE we are looking for will be available in round 5
  7. If we go TE, I don't want Ingram. He is not a willing blocker and doesn't seem to be very tough. I like the direction the draft has gone so far. Talented players who all are remarkably tough competitors. If we go TE, I like James Casey, but Pascoe would be the biggest, toughest guy left. Pascoe probably could start right away. Wouldn't be pissed if we took Nelson. DE Sidbury would be an interesting pick. I don't really see any of the OLBs as better prospects than the TEs at this point in the draft. I think we could get Follet or Nic Harris in Round 5. James Casey should be the pick.
  8. at least we are not the raiders
  9. Wow. Finally we seem to be learning something. Would've prefered Mack here but Wood can play and he is a tough SOB
  10. yeah that whole first round is pretty awful
  11. I really think Ayers is going to be the pick. He just seems like a solid player which I think honestly is more important right now than finding someone who can possibly rush the passer. The DL is a mess. It doesn't need a situational pass rusher right now(I know that we have a tough time bringing pressure but that's because our ends are absolute garbage all together). It needs a 3-down stud who can play in all situations. Ayers reminds me of a player that we passed on back in the '04 draft: Will Smith.
  12. Chung is a similar player to Whitner who might be better suited to play FS but he is the type of player I'd like to add to the D. I like Moore too. Both won't go in the 1st or early 2nd and both could be there when we pick in the 3rd On Whitner: I like the move to FS for him. But I hope he improves some of his decision-making back there because i've seen him make some poor choices before. I think it will allow him to make more of an impact on the game though. And Polamalu is FS. And he and Sanders are the best DBs in the game today both in the prime of there careers. Its a bit unfair to compare Whitner to them. If he doesn't improve his game over the next couple of seasons then it will be a fair argument.
  13. I think Moulds served as player rep before milloy did. It would make sense because milloy had just come on at the beginning of that season and moulds was traded after that season. I'm not 100% positive on this. Its kind of a hard piece of info to find.
  14. We let him go because: 1. He's a one-dimensional cover man who can't tackle at all. 2. He can only play on the outside. 3. McKelvin is going to take his place as the number 2 corner next year. 4. We want to try and extend McGee. I can't believe we are lamenting the loss of Greer. I give it 2 years before NO releases him.
  15. Arizona Cardinals just went to the Super Bowl. Cheapest organization in all of sports. Hire the right people and you don't need bloated staffs and extra talent evaluators.
  16. I smoke blunts. I see nothing wrong with it.
  17. you're right. He also plays free safety.
  18. I like it. I don't know if Ko Simpson will be back next year. Sean Jones would be a good addition, Dawan Landry is a RFA but he would be a good addition as well. I'm not sure if he plays SS, but that Atogwe from the Rams is a real good player and I think he is a UFA. As far as the draft goes, I don't think we are going to draft a safety in the first round, but Patrick Chung from Oregon is a real good player who should be there at our 2nd round pick. He is fast and can flat out level people. He is a bit on the small side though.
  19. Just delaying the inevitable. And his price will only go up the closer he gets to FA. Lock him up now.
  20. Evans and Schobel both recieved extension under the new regime so they should be included in both teams. Dick Lebeau never was the defensive coordinator here. It was Jerry Gray.
  21. I had forgotten about the Ravens trying to sign him. If I remember correctly, he planned on using his salary from that year and putting it all directly into the Hunter's Hope foundation. Would have been a great story.
  22. Just keeping the status quo so that whoever takes over will not have anything unattractive to deal with. Maybe I just can't believe Ralph is this blind...
  23. This team is putting itself in position to be sold. No GM changes, no coaching changes, no big jumps in payroll. This is classic preparation for an ownership change. Especially with the talk of Obama raising the capital gains tax to a much higher level than it is now. I'm not saying this is something that will happen this offseason, but I expect this franchise to be sold within the next 3-4 years.
  24. I think everyone is trying to read into this a little too much. They have been trying to get Modrak, who is a real good football man, more involved ever since Donahoe left. He has been reluctant because he does not want the day-to-day reponsibilities. If they are giving him more power and he is accepting that role, I would have to think this is not a good sign for Dick Jauron. If you can remember to last offseason, when Marv left, the talk was that Jauron would be more involved with the football personell operations. If his non-coaching roles are being diminished, Jauron is more likely to be let go.
