If you draft a LT in the first, what is the drop-off to nose tackle in the second. If you draft a NT in the first (Dan Williams), what is the drop-off to LT in the 2nd. I believe that the drop in talent in NT from first to second is not that great so you grab one of the top LTs at #9. Does not seem that complicated to me but what do I know......

Dwan Edwards Visiting Today
BuffaloBaumer replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really was not expecting either to sign to begin with so no harm no foul here..... -
BINGO! Sell the dead weight for 7th rounders if you have to.....We have a better chance of landing a Brady in the 6th than one in FA>

jimmy kennedy visiting buffalo tomor

The Bills have to overpay by A LOT to get these guys to sign and they won't. It sounds like Kennedy could have been a good fit (even if insurance). Bottom line is they should pay since the $$ is not going anywhere else.....Just pray they hit on all 7 rounds of this years draft because they have close to 7 holes. QB NT Receiver LB LT DE -
Browns looking to deal Quinn

Sounds to me like Cleveland is either going after one of Philly's Qbs or they have a definite 1st round target in the draft. Anderson released yesterday and Quinn on trade block today....... -
Obviously The Draft Is The Only Way Bills Make It
BuffaloBaumer replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We don't have a choice and that is why it is important (for one's sanity) that people realize where this team is right NOW. There is nowhere to go but up after last season. Maybe the record will be worse but the "likeability" can't get worse. -
Aside from the fact that free agents don't look towards Buffalo, the organization has made it crystal clear that the draft is the way they will build this team again. I am guessing if they do it right, 2012 is the next time we talk about possibly making the playoffs (that is if they find a QB in 2010 draft that develops properly). I am totally fine with this as long as the team stays in Buffalo. The hardest part about THIS rebuild is that I thought they found their franchise QB and LT over a year ago. If Peters and Edwards had kept progressing (and not complaining) this team would be light years ahead. The bottom line is that Bills fans HAVE to have realistic expectations and realize how many holes are still on this team.

PFT now reporting (via Schefter) Bills contact Porter
BuffaloBaumer replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills will have to over pay big time to get him here. He has already said he would like to play out West. If he does sign here for a ridiculous amount of money, don't complain about a stupid contract because that is the only way to get players who other teams want................. -
There really cannot be realistic expectations for playoffs this year so why not get the lines RIGHT for the first time in 10 years and draft the future QB in 3rd or 4th. If the new management is truly capable, we should have a QB ready to step in AFTER the 2011 FA and draft have concluded. Even though they have missed the playoffs for the past 10 years, this is the FIRST year where I don't think they have a snowballs chance in Hell to getting over 500. I am totally fine with the rebuild as long as it is done properly..............Just make sure to pick a QB that can take over in 2011 who has the right mentality, build and leadership to succeed if given time to learn.

LB NT LT RT Assuming Wood comes back, these are the positions I see the Bills filling with members already on the team competing for all other positions. Most likely, the starting QB is on the roster which is fine because nothing is happening this year anyway. First round, they are picking LT with NT being filled in the second. This leaves LB and RT to be picked up in FA. If, somehow, they manage a trade for LT in FA, hopefully Rolando McClain is the pick. Throw the whole thing out the window if Bradford somehow slips to them but I doubt either Clausen or Bradford is there.

Bills will seriously suck in 2010!!
BuffaloBaumer replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we are not getting a legit QB in FA, then there is nothing wrong with sucking it up for a year. Look at the team and be realistic. It will take another 2 years minimum to have the new staff (and eventually QB) get this team playoff ready. The rebuild is long overdue so just accept it. -

With Philly Management On Fence W/ McNabb
BuffaloBaumer replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who the heck knows what it would take to get him here...probably not even close to what I mentioned. Throw Lynch, Whitner a second and a third. Bottom line is now is the time to figure out what it WOULD take and get it done. -
How crazy do I look now?

With Philly Management On Fence W/ McNabb
BuffaloBaumer replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could easily get one of those 3rds back in a trade if not both by the time next year rolls around. Even if it was a 1st next year and one third, you think that is too much to get a guy that could actually get this team to the playoffs. What do people around here think we are going to do about a QB. Can you honestly tell me you would not be ecstatic about having a winning leader at QB again? Seriously? Until that position is filled, there is no chance within our division. Get McNabb and draft the futire QB this year or next. -
If you are a team like Buffalo with no light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to QB, I would throw whatever you can to get McNabb in here. A first and 3rd next year and a third this year could do it. Make some trades to get at least one of those thirds back and call it a day. Without a QB, this team has ZERO chance so why not do EVERYTHING you can to make this happen. It is now or never and Eagles Management will listen right now.....Draft a LT in the first this year and a nose tackle in the second....voila!

Buffalo Interested in WR Kelley Washington
BuffaloBaumer replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds just like a guy everyone on here better get used to seeing in FA. The Bills are filling their holes through the draft with the exception of maybe a veteran QB to compete for job. All I am hoping for is a NT so they can fill ONE BIG hole before the draft. -
Any free agent that is not on the DL or OL, I'm not interested

Anyone think Whaley suggested the non re-signs?
BuffaloBaumer replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whaley very well might turn out to be the best hire this team has made over the past 20 years. Anyone who wanted an up and coming GM with youth on his side might have their prayers answered in this guy. Obviously too early to tell but Whaley has seen the right way on how to get things done and I would not be surprised if he was GM within 3 years. He left the Steelers because he wanted to start building from the ground level so look for him to really make his mark on the Buffalo Bills over the next couple years. Hopefully he takes his knowledge that he has learned from others around him and turns out to be the diamond in the rough that Buffalo has been looking for since Polian left. -
The death of a once proud franchise:
BuffaloBaumer replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I see here is someone who was around 9 years old when the best, most fun times in Bills history took place. Must stink being bitter about a time when a lot of us were in our 20s and 30s enjoying it full tilt. Those games and tailgates will never be re-created and I, for one, would not have missed it for the world! -
I still get mad EVERY time I see that Orakpo thing. How could this organization be SO stupid when any idiot sitting on the couch could have called it.....I mean seriously, it boggles my mind.

2 part question for season ticket holders.....
BuffaloBaumer replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
4 tickets on the visitor side - 48 yard line 16 rows up. Love the sunny side and seeing all the different players from visiting teams. Nothing better than getting those guys you love to hate fired up on the sidelines. -
Buffalo does not have a QB that can start in the NFL and get you to a playoff game. Say that out loud and then tell me ONE reason why you would not want a proven winner here. Give up a first if you have to (maybe offer next years first instead). Throw a 2nd this year and a third next year, whatever. In order to win in this sport, you HAVE to have a QB. So what if he only has 3 years left. Draft a QB in the 3rd or wait until next year and have him learn. Don't you at least want the POSSIBILITY of making the playoffs again? Nobody on this roster can get you to the next level.....
