I could see the Jets winning the east if Rogers plays the entire season and plays well, until the Dolphins can find an answer for Allen and also beat playoff teams and win games on the road in November and December I won’t take them as a serious threat.

I don’t think Allen’s stats are going to fall off in any dramatic fashion, I also don’t believe they’re realistically in contention for the 1 seed mostly because of a very tough schedule. Another Allen 40+ TD 4500+ total yards and possibly less than 18 INTs this year with another division title definitely gives him a chance at MVP unless he runs up against another Rogers career year type of season by another QB. The bottom line for me is the MVP has become the best QB on one of the two 1 seeds, Lamar winning with his stats last year tells you all you need to know.

I think Rapp and Bishop was the plan and Edwards was the injury insurance behind those two, now because of multiple injuries we’re left holding our breath watching Hamlin. I do trust McDermott with DBs so I’m not hitting the panic button, but safety along with edge rusher are my biggest concerns going into the season.

If he gets the one seed he’ll be the MVP, if he gets the one seed three times he’ll be a 3 time MVP. Although because of the no weapons narrative and everyone counting out the Bills because of departures, he has as good a chance winning MVP without the one seed this year as he’s ever going to have.

Kyler’s arm is better than I thought it was coming into the league, the problem is that his athleticism hasn’t translated as well as I thought it would, I was surprised how easily he’s tracked down while trying to escape. Just shows how athletic these NFL defenders are and gives you more respect for what Lamar and Allen are able to do running the ball.

Great you know somebody who knows somebody, regardless it seems pretty clear from McDermott’s comments today they believe coaching and an environment conducive with instilling confidence has made a difference with Elam. that’s pretty damning evidence that the previous position coach wasn’t doing a good enough job creating that environment, at least where Elam is concerned.

Yes.. he wasn’t coming back, the same way it was an “amicable split” as Leslie Frazier was shown the door. I think it’s pretty obvious listening to McDermott’s presser today that the change in coaching for Elam has been the factor that they’d hoped it would be. Edited just now by julian

McDermott isn’t publicly throwing anyone under the bus, you’re probably correct about Butler’s bruised ego, but I disagree about him having an opportunity to return as the DB coach. Elam was a 1st round pick and wasn’t getting onto the field and there’s no doubt Bean and McDermott wanted to turn every stone in an attempt to get a return on that hefty investment. I’m sure management is very happy with their decision, sometimes personalities just don’t blend and this was probably the case with Elam and Butler.

I’m sure that’s true everywhere, but Elam making plays every time he got into games maybe lends some credibility to the idea he was in the position coach’s doghouse, combined with Benford’s good play that made it an easy call to keep Elam on the bench. I think it’s obvious they made the right call getting a new coach in there for Elam.

Definitely looks like Coleman seen Josh rolling right and quickly shook off Benford for just enough separation to make the jump ball over the top. looks like good coverage by Benford but Coleman did what you’d expect a big talented WR to do… make a play.

Imagine the popularity once Allen wins a Super Bowl, he’s going to need security to venture outdoors anywhere outside of Buffalo, I’m sure the locals will have enough courtesy to leave him alone for the most part.

So basically the list isn’t taken seriously by a large number of players, like a previous poster has stated, in no way does a player have Dawkins in the top 20, or about 50 other players that made the list for that matter. So basically players putting their friends and teammates on the list.

Am I crazy to think this list is just a false flag operation by the league to create debate and chatter. I’ve never seen it explained exactly how they formulate the list, I’ve only seen a leaked sheet every year and it looks like they ask the players who’s the top 20 or 25. How do they come up with 100 players ? I’m guessing the same 15 to 20 players are on everybody’s list. I don’t know, something just seems fishy.

It’s why every management group at the combine during interviews ask the players “ would you rather be tough or smart?” Hard to win with dumb players.

Like every year.. I’ll put it on to start the game… then after one drive I’m like wtf.. this isn’t football and I’ll find something else to do.

When Allen puts up a 5th consecutive 40+ TD season leading the league in yards and TDs and doesn’t get the MVP being virtually the only player on his team in the top 100 outside of Dion in the 90s… then we’ll know it’s never gonna happen.
