bladiebla replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still in it, don't think I survived this long before. Have them win this week though... dont think ill make it to the bye... -
John McCargo, next to go Cornell Green, never to be seen Trent Edwards, now moves the jax backwards Marshawn Lynch, trade made us crinch Jamon Meredith, out of bandwith Buddy Nix, Bills no longer selling out tix James Hardy, removed from the party
-
This! What is disturbing is that he hasnt added much bulk, production aside given his current physical attributes would he be a first rounder 2011 draft? The latter is what DJ gambled on. I say juice him good.

Pay attention to the road!

I understand the shakeout but what I dont understand is the timing... Why not before the start of the season, why now...

Edwards impresses Jags enough for them to cut Bouman
bladiebla replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, NFL Europe story telling time... Back in 2000 we went to the away game versus the Barcelona Dragons (Amsterdam Admirals diehard back in the days here). The Admirals had a reasonable start to the season and would be host to the World Bowl, the Dragons were 0-3 or something like that. We didnt book a hotel or nothing just got into the car and drove to Sitges where the Barcelona Dragons had their facilities. We settled in a hotel near to the players who had their hotel above a sports cafe. Every day we went into the sports bar and had lunch there while the Dragons were having their lunch there too... In full colors offcourse. We certainly spotted a few looks but all in all the players seemed to pay us no attention at all, still it didnt kill our fun, we were in gameday mood all week. Gameday arrives and we park in the wrong spot as it turns out, we walk straight into this big tuinnel that seems to lead into the stadium... Well it led straight onto the field lol. Anyway we walk around for a bit untill one of the coaches of the Dragons sends us off and back in the parking lot we ask the security guy there (lol) how to get into the stadium. Game starts and we get absolutly smashed, hammered and destroyed by the Dragons. After the game while waiting for our players at their bus we get approached by a couple of Dragon fans who insist to take us along with them to have dinner and beers. Offcourse we couldnt resist. Turns out they lived in Sitges as well, so we have a great meal albleit a bit strange because the two persons who insisted we'd join them were the only ones capable of speaking some english and spanish well spanish we don't speak in europe lol. We werent allowed to pay for anything, not even a round of drinks... After dinner we hit the bar district with them and whilst still sulking a bit I get offered a huge pint of beer, I turn around and who is standing there... Todd Bouman with his entire o-line, all hugeeeeeee smiles; "That's for giving us focus this week, hope you guys still enjoyed your game". Had a great chat with him afterwards, turns out we fueled them big time during the whole week (not exactly our intention lol) but I never forget turning around and seeing these huge guys in a semi circle around Todd and that big smile on his face. They won most of their games after that and made it to the World Bowl that year (even won it I think but sure on that). The shirt my mate was wearing that day still hangs in a frame in my office (with an autograph of one our favorite players). -
Agreed, love his no BS approach in pressers as well (Nix too for that matter).

I'm not passing judgement on him as of yet other then that I dont grant him a clean slate to start off with, nor do I value his results as HC at Dallas as anything more then historical and too far in the past ot be of any worth. I do value his results and the opnions about his coaching in GT. That's where the core of our difference is I think because it has put my mind set to Gailey has a lot to proof and yours to I trust Gailey. But as I said, I havent passed judgement on him as HC with the Bills as of yet, allthough I do feel there seems to be an eery similarity with the 2007 Dolphins situation.

Five Myths That Continue To Pervade TSW

wether it is factual or not it was a great read and certainly a different take on things then mainstream. -
K.Williams - most under rated player in the NFL
bladiebla replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look what happened when he went down last year. Williams is the real deal imho. -
I know ,I know, only posted those because apparently posting his HC record at GT didnt count... Kinda interesting to see though that the teams he was on never improved but stayed the same or got a lot worse and always improved or stayed the same when he left. Statistically that would mean something given a large enough dataset since other influencal factors are then non factors... Listen I'm not trying to black sheep the guy, but stop seeing him as the great savior untill he starts to show something for it. The positivism is based on nothing other then him not being Dick Jauron so far imho. Personally I rate his Dallas recordas meaning a lot less then what he did in the last 10 years. BTW Shananan was the HC both before and after Gailey his Dallas stint.
-
As funny as that remark is the sad thing is that we allready have those prior to OTAs...
-
Alpha my point is that he hasn't shown much (at least not pure awesomeness) outside of his Dallas stint, also didn't all the stars kinda retire the year after Gailey was fired? I know what Jones said. What he did show is an inability to win anything post season wise (both WLAF and NFL), but well if he manages to get us to the post season in the first place I'll gladly worry about that. Defend him all you want, I'm merely saying that I personally havent been convinced with his hiring based on his statistical resume in w/l ratio and him being the for GT fans what Dick Jauron was to us and nothing has happened to change my opinion so far in. Heh I really hope he proofs me wrong but Gailey has Dolphins-Cameron written all over him so far.

Poor Vince... Hint: http://thesaurus.com/browse/invincible Edit: I'm born, raised and living in the Netherlands. The language in the Netherlands is Dutch. And you sir have just been corrected in your use of your native language by a non native speaker. I sure as hell hope you'll be kept away from nuclear missles in your proffesional career, mr. Vince 'near 900' SAT.

Fine lets get his OC stats involved then: Broncos before 8-8 11-5 Broncos with Gailey as OC 5-11 Broncos after 12-4 Steelers before 12-4 11-5 Steelers with Gailey as OC 10-6 11-5 Steelers after 7-9 6-10 Dolphins before 10-6 9-7 Dolphins with Gailey as OC 11-5 11-5 Dolphins after 9-7 10-6 Chiefs before 9-7 4-12 Chiefs with Gailey as OC 2-14 Chiefs after 4-12

Georgia Tech before Chan Gailey took over: 8-5 Under Chan Gailey: 7–6 7–6 7–5 7–5 9–5 7–6 After Chan Gailey: 9-4 11-3
-
Well I havent been one of Gaileys fans nor have I seen anything that would move me away from the wtf feeling I had when he was hired. Sure the offense looks more of an offense the last 2 games then it did for the entire last season (you know the one without an OC). But if you look at the team everything seems to have become worse ever since he was hired, getting the right talent on the roster is a big part of what makes a successfull coach. The signing of all these former Georgia players that didnt even survived other teams their trainingcamps is not exactly a confidence creator either. Why is it that we held so over so many players from last year, great coaches reshape a team that is struggeling. But then again the succesfull rebuilders make sure they have a say in the FO stuff of things or have a trusty in there. The only thing I can credit Gailey for atm is that I'm less sold on the so called FO revamp then on his hiring, I seriously doubt if the FO was revamped as much as it was originally announced it was going to be.

TO is on pace for 96 catches and 1496 yards (15.6 ypc)
bladiebla replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have a look at the last catch Evans made in the 4th, the I dont care attitude drips off him, it's disturbing really. Let's give Cornell Green keys to the city! -
How to fix this? Look at the Dolphins... Saban out, whoop, whoop here comes Cameron to safe the day, some changes in front office and here we go fans... Errr oops 1-15. Following year they turn it around by getting a solid coach and a real complete revamp of their FO, major shake out with the so-so talent and suddenly they have a competitive team.

I think Chan just put Edwards on the hot seat!
bladiebla replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect but Gailey is starting to feel like Cameron and the 1-15 Dolphins more every week... :/ -
Huh how are they allowed to name their trophy World Bowl, the rights to that are owned by the NFL (former WLAF and NFL Europe trophy).

Trent talks about being released

He did look relieved I'd almost say. Would love to see him on the field this season again btw, just to see if he can do it there. -
Is it safe to say we are officially cursed?
