I feel like anyone can? Once you hit that 21 day activation window you either get activated or you go on season ending IR. I thought that was the rule, but maybe theres more to it.
I know Sweeneys done for the year. Same with Ford. Phillips hit IR twice, so he's done.
Milano should be possibly available against pittsburgh, but I'm not counting on it. Hodgins is interesting, but i think thats likely dependent on brown. He's in his DFR window currently, but I'm not sure they want to activate him and have to either carry 7 WRs or try and hide him on the PS. Dodson/Lewis should be available to be activated soon.
Rule also is if you go on IR a second time after coming back you are done.

This is already done and agreed to prior to this year starting.
The salary cap was set with a minimum of 175 million to prevent a huge drop, but the expectation is once done and calculated- the future salary cap over the next 3 years will have to absorb another 20+ million in lost revenue for 2020.
The only advantage is the upcoming TV contract that will cause a healthy increase in the cap. It is just going to take awhile to totally sort out after this years fiasco.
I just can't see ot dropping that much...unless they get players to accept 90% of their salaries or something for next year to avoid a huge number of cap casualties and low contracts in FA.
The players may be smarter to accept 90% of their salaries versus have a huge number of players get cut and then have no money to sign them.

The sums of money for those numbers is minuscule in the big scheme of things. I don’t see how the cap does not drop. It won’t add up, financially speaking. They could borrow from future year increases to keep things flat.

WTF is going on in Houston? These dudes hitting the juice?
-
They will likely do something that taps into future year salary cap increase projections to balance it out I am betting....maybe leave it flat for a period of time until the revenue increases past the point of the losses and then let it start going up again...

This defeats the entire point of a salary cap. Not all teams have Pegula’s and Jones’ as owners. The cap will have to come down, it’s straight forward economics. The cap was designed to make it fair for all teams. How is it fair when some teams are able to have fans at the stadium and others are not? How it fair when some stadiums are at 25% capacity and others are at 10% or less?
While much of this goes towards the cap, teams do get to keep club seats and booth revenue as well as concessions, etc.
I don't think the teams will allow the cap to have a huge dropoff due to circumstances far beyond anyone's control. Under normal circumstances you would be right. But these are far from normal circumstances.

Yeah, the offense wasn’t really that sharp yesterday. Luckily the defense ant ST picked up the slack.
But they still rolled up 23 first downs and 27 points...would have likely been 30+ if not for the silly fumbles.

Carson Wentz is so bad now it's comical...Eagles had negative yards of offense and no first downs prior to the last drive where they scored right before the half...against a historically bad defense.
How this is only a 1 score game I have no idea...they suck.

Ok so when do the weekly updates come out?
I guess his whopping 157 yards launched him to 218th. Any new "notables" in range?
I will probably do this every Friday

Yup.

I dont buy it either. Just like saying we should have won the AZ game. We didnt.
Point of most of this thread though is saying this game was not even close. Yes it was. The fact there is even a would Could have, would have, should have debate shows that. We won who cares, but it is ok to admit it was a close game.
I guess when a team leads for 57 minutes and the other team never really threatened to take the lead or even tied the game, I don't consider it a close game. We just have differing opinions of close games.

Prove it mode - If the Bills won the Super Bowl last year no one would even question them or close wins. When you are unproven your quality of wins, etc will be talked about.
That game could have easily turned out differently. Bass misses the FG and we are likely headed to OT. We had our starters out there and were at 110% intensity until the final minute.
Could have, would have, should have...

Maybe they might want to rethink waiving Stills now?

he is one of the best offensive minds in the league he should be confident. 49ers have done really well with their injuries.
And McDermott has done a pretty good job on balance of forcing offenses to struggle in his time here...
Nick Mullens should scare nobody.

Bills have the disrespect card they needed...reports are Shanahan thinks Mullens can beat the Bills so he will rest Jimmy G again to try and let him fully heal.

Game is now moved to Wednesday after 4 additional positives for Baltimore...

No, used his True Value Hardware life preserver. Summerall has got highlights to call here!
I mean that could be used as comic relief...it is so hilarious how he deadpans that like it is a normal occurrence and then immediately transitions to "it was a tough act to follow but the Vikings and 49ers didn't disappoint and put on a show of their own."
Hahahaha...I have watched this at least 10 times and laugh every time at how he just is totally matter of fact about the whole thing. Kid rides hot air balloon out of the stadium...gets dumped in icy river...move along...nothing to see here...back to the game...

He wasn't wrong about Brady still having some life left in his arm. If their offense is clicking by the end of the season, they have enough weapons, and a good enough defense.
Those deep balls from him looked like the TB QBs in Tecmo Bowl throwing lollipops that took 10 seconds to come down...

KC is also Super Bowl champ and not still in prove yourself mode. They have the mindset of winning it all. In addition they beat won 5 games by 2 TD's or more. The Bills have won 0 by that margin.
Doesn't matter. It all just shows it was a close game. The fact a FG being made or missed shows that. The Bills hung on by a thread. The starting D was on the field until the final whistle. Would be nice to let some guys get some time off late in the game once in while...
So did a lot of other teams yesterday as they do every week. Let's stop pretending most teams win in blowouts. If this was the case the Steelers would be treated like they are 5-5 with the number of nail biters they have played this year.
The Bills never trailed and the game was never really in doubt.

And Lynn deserved it all. He was horrible.
I took a peak at the Chargers message boards after the game and it was not pretty. Fans seem to hate Lynn and have wanted him fired for a long time now.
He just isn't qualified to be a head coach.
His Press Conference after the game wasn't any better. He got argumentative and then confused and then his explanations didn't make much sense. If you want to laugh you should go listen to it.

Halftime - Bills up 17-6
Bills get ball to start half and score so up 24-6.
LAC score on their first drive and convert 2 pt conversion - 24-14
Bills punt on next possession.
LAC gets ball at 20 and drive down to Bills 25. They go for it on 4th rather than kick field goal. Would have made it a 7 point game.
Bills fumble on next possession.
LAC drive down to Bills 7. Have to settle for field goal. Game is now 24-17.
Bills fumble next possession.
Bills D forces punt
Bills intercepted
LAC intercepted
Bills kick FG to push lead to 10
LAC gets ball and drives from own 12 to Bills 1 with 1min left. They have no clue and waste the clock. Game over.
This was a one score game much of the second half. It required the Bills D to make some stops and get an Int. Some dumb play by the LAC help as well. This was not a blow out. The 24-6 lead lasted one drive and was back to a 10 point game and could have easily turned into a blown lead.
Why do you assume their kicker would have made a 43 yard FG when he already missed an XP and has struggled all year both on FGs and XPs?
Maybe that decision had more to do with his confidence in the kicker than anything else.

Also the 10 point deficit was the largest margin of defeat suffered by San Diego this season.I do agree that the game should’ve been won handily but I think what makes some fans uneasy is the fact that they could have put the game away much earlier. As you pointed out, the 3 turnovers kept LAC in the game. We’d like to see a more convincing win
What do you think KC fans are thinking after yesterday's game?

I think that ole Tommy's gonna find out that the playoffs have a whole different feel to them when you don't have home field throughout the playoffs by virtue of going 8-0 inside the division.
Brady was so good he got 2 extra division wins credited to him every year apparently. This is how legends get talked about doing bigger than life things after they leave...
Brady won 8 division games every year even though they only play 6. Next thing it will be reported that fans used to see him fly through the air to Gillette Stadium with his superman cape on every game day.

2021 NFL salary cap conundrum: Three major consequences of projected decrease

I am shocked they didn't ask for concessions from players...in the long run they are the ones getting screwed in all of this...the stars will get paid its the guys on mid term contracts and vet minimum contracts that will end up bearing the brunt of it.
