  1. My favorite problem with franchise mode is that they finally introduced restricted free agents in '06 and left it in for '07 (I think, unless it was '05 and '06), then just decided to remove it. So three-year players can just become unrestricted free agents. Granted, I didn't like when FBs were being signed away as restricted free agents costing the teams a first and a third, but at least that facet of the game was there. And this was so good, I just had to share on last years game... I was only about three years in. The Falcons had just drafted a QB high in the first round the year before. In this years draft, they took another QB top in the first round, another in the second round, and a third in the fourth round. That's silly enough, but they topped it off by signing a released Tom Brady (due to Patriots cap issues, of course). I think the Falcons are OK at QB, but that's just me.
  2. I'm surprised I haven't seen the "Sign him for the veteran minimum" post yet. That always comes up in the "I've heard of him..." threads, yet it never seems to happen...
  3. Hey, leave me out of this. I'll tell you one thing about Chambers though, that kid's motor never stops.
  4. I am in the same boat as you. I never even played the 2K versions, but ever since the exclusivity contract, the game has gotten progressively worse. Visually, I think the game is just terrible. The realism made some nice improvements in the late nineties to the early 2000s. Now, it's the same tired animations. Guys still react like robots. I mean, considering the progress the franchise made, it is fair to assume the game should have continued that. They haven't. However, I will be certainly buying this years version as well as the new Head Coach. It's my last link to the video games I enjoyed growing up.
  5. Oh man, did you see Marshawn run that person over!?!
  6. How do we sign a guy that is under contract with another team? Do we just make a contract and have him sign it, then it's done, he's a Bill?
  7. Look's like we found who was going to take the fall for Lynch
  8. I agree. I'm not one to say "bring him in" every time a player becomes available, but I was hoping we could have brought Gray in before he signed with the Texans for the veteran minimum. It concerns me a little that he has been cut after only a few months, but the bottom line is he was solid when thrust into competion. I know JP will likely remain as the number two, but if this guy is looking for work, I don't see how you can say Hamden (sorry all!) is better than Gray as your third QB.
  9. He bumped a traffic cop with his car. Not sure if that's better or worse than hitting a civilian and leaving the scene.
  10. His mug shot is the best part.
  11. Shaun Alexander has visited both Cincinnati and New Orleans. I think there is clearly a reason why the MVP of only a few years ago can't latch on.
  12. I just thought of something kind of funny... I know everyone keeps using the argument of "What if it were a family member hit?" So I was thinking, what if it were Marshawn hit? Haha, we'd all quit our day just to find the driver and bring him to the police to talk, haha
  13. Haha, Jauron look like he's 90 doing a crossword puzzle.
  14. The phrase "key losses" is always used to list the players lost in the offseason, whether cut, traded or unsigned. It isn't to say the team is worse without them, it's just a phrase to convey what is no longer here.
  15. That was an incredibly thorough post. Nice work
  16. Yeah, I've been waiting for ours. Pretty fair review. The only part I took exception with was the comment of not having much behind Lynch. He mentions Dewayne Wright but not Fred Jackson.
  17. Because if they try to tell their client how to live their lives, they will get dropped and the client will find someone else.
  18. Purely from a football standpoint, he was ruined when we drafted McGahee. There was nothing he could possibly do on the field to warrant us keeping him over McGahee.
  19. Well, I don't know if you'd say Whitner had any character concerns, but if you want to count him, we'd be batting 3 for 3
  20. I would rather this didn't happen
  21. Those are some interesting guests. Kordell Stewart and Casey Hampton?
  22. I don't know. What does he want us to say? That he was tremendous while here and will probably slide up the depth chart in Green Bay from 10 to 8?
