  1. I think that the people who started the COTY buzz for Jauron were the same people that predicted us to win 3 games at the start of the season last year. They were saying this team had no talent to begin with, then everyone still got injured, yet they still won 7 games, the coach must be great. Most of these people have ever watched a bills game from start to finish and didn't know that this was at least a .500 team on paper going into the season. I'll give Jauron credit for getting his players to play hard and not quit. However, I really didn't like his game management. Some of the blame has to go to the coordinators too, but I just think that his clock management, always going into the prevent d at the end of halves and allowing the other team to score, while always sitting on the ball at the end of the first half, the run run pass offense, etc. etc. were all serious problems. I understand the mentality, play conservative and keep yourself in the game, I just don't agree with it. This works agaginst the jets, dolphins and redskins, but against better teams you have to go for the jugular when you have them on the ropes (dallas, denver), or the other team will come back on you. Hopefully with more confidence in his roster DJ will change up his coaching style, but right now the jury's still out.
  2. Berman is a Jets fan, his family has had season tickets since they were in Shea Stadium
  3. I hope we don't use that pick on James Laurinaitis. I mean he had a good big 10 season, but looked like a chicken with his head cut off in the national chamionship game when OSU lost 42-3 against Georgia. We need another WR to replace lee evans after the raiders signed him to that 5 year 92 million dollar contract
  4. I've got a raging clue. Count me in
  5. Same, except, I got troy aikman and missed jeff george
  6. The consensus seems to be the the Bills will draft a big WR in the first two rounds. The question is, do they have a specific one in mind? It seems like in february Limas Sweed was the obvious pick of the WR litter. Then it was Kelly. Now its Devin Thomas with James Hardy making a late push. All of this draft board movement has happened after these guys played their last college game. I'm very curious to see if the Bills think one of these guys is head and shoulders above the rest and they need to take him at 11, or trade down and get him late in the first if they think he'll still be available. Or do they think that its impossible to tell who is going to be the best and who is going to be the 4th best out of this group? If thats the case they'll probably just take the best available non WR at 11, then take whoever is left out of those 4 in the second round. I'm predicting that this scenerio is the most likely, and I'm fine with that.
  7. I don't see how you can say that drafting any postion would be a disaster. Last I checked we don't have multiple pro bowlers at cb, ol, dt, wr, lb, or de. So if they think that the guy most likely to be a pro bowler is a cb (lets suspend disbelief and pretend these things are even semi-predictable), then take cb. If they think its an o-lineman, than take an o-lineman, etc, etc. We're just not a good enough team right now to draft for need. They've gotta take the best player available, no matter what position he plays.
  8. Not trying to nitpick, but actually I am. I think a better time to revisit this would be during the 2008 season.
  9. A crime, even a serious one like murder, is not reason to unretire a jersey. There are a lot more RB numbers so it is much easier to retire RB numbers.
  10. Yeah, I know, that's ridiculous. They obviously would've called Jay Glazer.
  11. Bad marketing move. Now people are just going to replace the name on there fletcher jerseys instead of buying new mitchell jerseys. A lot of people did this with spikes/poz jerseys.
  12. http://deadspin.com/383142/if-you-dont-lik...-draft-jamboroo Very funny little article, adresses a lot of the stuff that is talked about on this board. (caution: NSFW language)
  13. The k was for killer as in Keith "Killer" McKellar
  14. Damn U SI archive!!! I still think Mandel is good, but I guess he was a little off on his analysis of a couple of people.
  15. This will add more feul to the arguments of people who like James Hardy and Antoine Cason. For people who don't read Mandel, he is one of the most knowledgeable college football writers out there. He should earn your respect in the first 3 paragraphs when he talks about how stupid the combine and mock draft junkies are. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...008draft/1.html
  16. He was definitely arrested, there wasn't enough evidence to convict. Who knows what really happened. If your implying that guys with character issues can clean there act up and become productive players and citizens, then I see what your saying. But on the other hand if Goodell was commissioner at the time he definitely would've missed some games the following season and who knows if the Ravens even make it to the superbowl if this happens.
  17. "If there's a GM who tells the truth during the month of April, he's making a mistake. I've always called it liar's month. All GMs should be forgiven in April. Please, do not judge any GM in April. Lying is simply a part of our business in April.'' --San Diego GM A.J. Smith, in an interview with Nick Canepa of the San Diego Union Tribune.
