  1. I wonder how those stats would look for the same exact crimes if the criteria were people making $20,000 or less, regardless of race.
  2. Wow, I never realized Kane was such an !@#$.
  3. Yeah, we need to hear more from her and the Widmore clan- they seemed so mysterious and all-knowing before, but after they all got back to the island, they seemed much more hopeless and *ahem* lost.
  4. Right, but wasn't it so she could kill him so then she'd realize she'd have to help Jack set Jughead off and thus erase history and then not kill him? [if that makes any sense at all...]
  5. Well, Damon and Carlton have said something to the effect of, "after episode 6 of season 6, you will have all the 'tools' you need to develop a hell of a theory on how the show ends."
  6. Jin is one of my favorite characters, especially considering his transformation from being such a dick and one of the most hated characters in season 1. And I'll always love Claire, I don't care how annoying she gets, she's just too hot.
  7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_style Think Patrick Roy. I think this is a bad move for Canada- remember how badly Luongo played against the Blackhawks last year? I'm a big believer in veteran experience, and Brodeur has that in spades... I can't think of one major game Luongo has played in. Also, I don't think Brodeur was totally at fault for that loss to the US, I'd give him the start against Germany to get his confidence back. Now, they have all their eggs in one basket w/ Luongo- I don't see this ending well.
  8. First of all..... DON'T YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE !@#$ IS IN THE HATCH?!! My favorite was season 4, although from halfway thru season 3 to the end of season 4 is the best stretch overall. I voted season 3 as the worst, though, because the first half of that season was just incredibly boring. The writers have all but admitted they were stalling until they could set an end date for the show. They did that halfway thru season 3 and you can tell because that is when the series really takes off. I agree with UConn that season 1 is great for nostalgia, but it isn't the strongest overall. However, I think you should quit now- it's just too much time and effort to watch a whole series. I joined in the summer b/w seasons 3 and 4, when they put the episodes on abc.com for free, and like you, I started from the pilot and marched right thru until I was caught up. I was hooked by season 1 episode 3, "Walkabout," when you found out about Locke's backstory, and I never looked back. So, if you aren't in love with the show by now, I just don't think it'll be worth your time. Find out what's in the hatch and leave it at that.
  9. Yankees, Boston College everything, and Sabres, though I've been watching more LA Kings games than Sabres since I moved.
  10. I've found that liberal use of the ignore button does wonders for enhancing the enjoyment of this board. And don't give a **** what people think about you on this board, it's just a message board, after all.
  11. Haha, I hear you, I definitely don't plan on going back. I'm not married, and with the caliber of girls out here, I'm gonna keep it that way for awhile.
  12. Yeah, I had that moment last month. Right before I teed off, I said to myself, "Holy ****, I'm golfing in the middle of January." Pretty much decided I'm not going back East if I don't have to.
  13. I see what you're saying, but I think a more effective way to show dissidence would be to remain Congress and vote out of lockstep if that's what he wants to do. The more D's and R's that break away from the pack, the better. Retiring and having a seat filled with another lemming senator won't do anyone any good.
  14. Looking forward to getting back to the Locke-Alpert story line after a break from it last week. Also, more info on Crazy Claire tonight, please.
  15. I got one for XMas and have zero complaints so far. Although, I was happy with the Razor for 5 years, so my standards are pretty low.
  16. Yeah it's pretty sweet down here... I moved here a few months ago for school, and although I still prefer San Francisco, sticking down south wouldn't be so bad.
  17. I really liked that episode, even if we didn't advance the Fake Locke (or as Jensen called him, the Locke-ness Monster) storyline. My main thought after this one is- is the Dogan/Jacob team really the good team and Fake Locke's the bad? I'm starting to wonder if Jacob et al can be trusted. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure Charles Widmore is sided with one or the other of these factions, just not sure which. Him being with Alpert in 1954 points to Team Jacob, but he did get kicked off the island, so maybe he went with Team Fake Locke...
  18. I believe you- in fact, I brought it up because it seemed out of character for you. You do constantly bash liberals, no doubt, but I didn't have you pegged for a Republican lap dog like Wacka. Not that you care, I'm sure, but I was curious.
  19. So why note vote 3rd party if it comes down to it in the next election? Why vote for her just because she wins the GOP primary, if you think she's a bad candidate?
  20. Sorry, here's where I got that, not the portion I quoted. "If that person is an independent, and he best represents my fiscal values, then yes I would vote for him." Then why would you vote for Palin just because she won the GOP primary, hypothetically?
  21. I agree w/ McShay's analysis, here. If one of the top T's are available, pick him regardless of what other positions are on the board (barring one of the elite DT's falling to 9, which I don't think anyone sees happening). Otherwise, grab Bradford.
  22. I'm curious- do you never vote 3rd party, then? I know you advocate voting best candidate regardless of party, but this indicates that you'll vote Republican in the next election no matter what.
  23. If they want to keep playing together, Daltrey and Townshend should change the name, must like the Other Ones/the Dead did when Jerry died.
