  1. Good to see him get one- great story, great player, great guy.
  2. Yeah, that was a terrible performance, Daltrey sounded horrible. No more Moon = no more The Who, just like Zeppelin ended when Bonham died.
  3. OK- so wtf is up with these 2 timelines? What's real and what's not? Obviously, something is up with the airplane/LAX timeline, as not only is Jack's hair much longer, as UConn noted, but Desmond on the plane (and then not?), Shannon not on it, and Jack looking like he knows something's off.... just what the hell is going on?! I knew that Carlton and Damon said they had a new narrative going this season, but this is mindblowing right now- just can't figure out what is happening, especially with the island underwater in the LA timeline. These writers know how to drag you in and make you want more and more. Great to finally see the temple and those who were taken from the tail section, and great to see some of the old crew back [boone, Charlie, and Claire]. And I hope this is the end of Juliet once and for all- the worst character on Lost, IMO. Sayid's gotta be Jacob. Also, why didn't the Jacob bodyguard crew just ice Fake-Locke when he came out of the statue, or at least when he laid the beat down on Alpert? It's great to see Ben in this new role of total pawn, totally confused and clueless- it's so unlike him and it's about time.
  4. I don't know what you were watching- that was the strongest premiere the series has ever had, including the pilot.
  5. I can't concentrate on anything today... I don't think I've been this excited since I was a little kid! I'll also be refraining from using internet or looking at text messages until it finishes here on the West Coast- can't take any chances, I'm living spoiler-free.
  6. Get well soon, Beerball, praying for you. If it's any consolation, my stepmother had bacterial meningitis and fully recovered and is now leading a normal, healthy life. There is hope!
  7. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CHANGE YOUR NAME AND AVATAR!
  8. lmao? Even if you disagreed with the guy, it's not like he's Hitler. What the hell is wrong with you?
  9. What a !@#$in idiot. I take Darrell Hammond's impression of Matthews more seriously than him.
  10. It was for those in the know And I slightly edited it... this is a family message board, after all.
  11. Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where, Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and, uh, Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
  12. I second this. There's no need to let a few dimwits ruin this for the rest of us. It's very rare to have this kind of access and conversation with an ESPN reporter, and I'd hate to see it go.
  13. I don't know if anyone else here reads kissingsuzykolber.com, but it's pretty funny. Anyway, after hearing that the Bills were going to hire Gailey last night, they put up this request: http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2010/0...at-the-f-k.html Here was the response, posted today: http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2010/0...ley-hatred.html Pretty over-the-top and profanity laden, but there are some gems in there. "In your post, you used the word God. That's an entity in which I no longer believe."

  15. Please, the amount of Red Sox fans increased at least ten-fold after 2004. It's the nature of winning a championship.
  16. How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?
  17. I think you nailed it, bartshan-83. This could payoff big, given his recruiting history and past success at the school, but his past behavior indicates that it will more likely blow up in USC's face. The guy seems like a total douchebag, completely arrogant, and he hasn't had any significant success as a head coach yet. However, I think going to the college ranks for a coach was a good idea, especially considering the bums they were looking at in the NFL (Del Rio, Edwards). Clearly he's got something the AD's like, because both UT and USC are prestigious enough programs that they wouldn't hire some bum, but I think he has a slim chance of success, especially if they get the heavy sanctions everyone is anticipating.
  18. The nail in the coffin! Ewing + Starks= Victory
  19. I think you are still confused. It's either stay with your current contract and don't get sued, or take the other job and risk suit- you decide based on the incentives of either action, but you are free to breach contract whenever you want. Thus, you can skip out on a company, but you risk suit- you are still free to do it (barring a covenant to compete, but even that can be negotiated away), but you bear the consequences.
  20. Labatt Blue was my go to on the East coast, but since moving out west I can't find it easily, so my typical beer purchase is Pacifico or Anchor Steam. If I'm looking for something a little pricier, but much more tasty, I recently discovered the Maui Brewing Company- their Big Swell IPA is fantastic.
