  1. But what difference, at this point, does it make?
  2. From the article: "several Oakland City Council members wants to require any new marijuana business in the town to give the city a 25 percent ownership in the company, as well as at least one seat on their board. The Easy Bay Express reports that the plan, advanced by Councilmembers Desley Brooks, Larry Reid and Noel Gallo, would lock out any businesses that did not participate, denying them a business permit." That's a pretty far cry from the city becoming a business partner. In my view, it's a shakedown racket. They're using their authority to step in and skim one-fourth of the profits at the cost of the business losing it's license to operate. That's fascist and totalitarian in my dictionary. Yep, I completely agree.
  3. They'd be saying that regardless of who Trump invites to attend. Normally I would agree, but she's already lied through her teeth in front of them. I see no reason why she couldn't effortlessly do so again.
  4. Okay, so we can assume that this entire time you've been referring to caps on mobile devices and not on home internet. Now that we've established that, do you know why there are caps on mobile data, and why you get charged for increased data usage? These two sentences from your third paragraph: "You don't quite understand that it isn't about streaming. It is about the power of cutting off access to the internet through the monetization of data which the mobile phone industry has perfected and the ISP's envy." Do you stand by that assertion?
  5. This is so typical. Insinuate yourself into an industry in order to "regulate" it and tax the #@%$ out of it, all in the name of the public good. In the meanwhile, they're actually going to be shocked when people opt to keep their grow rooms secret and illegal, because all you need to do is save enough to afford a decent lawyer and all the rest is profit. Any money they gain from this will go down the same rabbit hole that's caused California's outrageous debt.
  6. Are you referring to your mobile data as having a 2G cap, or are you saying that you or someone you know has a monthly data cap on your ethernet DSL/ digital cable?
  7. If you read books, that makes you a nerd by today's standard?
  8. Avoid Ramen, whatever you do.
  9. When was the last time you actually felt sorry for Cartman?
  10. Lucent? Fluid? My best guess would probably be in a lighthouse.
  11. Point taken, but.....ew. Which, as cis-lucents, we're totally fine with.
  12. He's always seemed like a nice enough guy. I prefer to save the "idiot" moniker for the likes of Gatorman. You're correct, but I've not even bothered with the nuts & bolts aspect of it. My position has been based solely on principle. They didn't build it, they have no right to regulate it.
  13. It makes little sense to you because you're arguing a political position against an industry position. I have not been trying to argue with you, I've been attempting to inform you. Nothing that I have stated in my discussion with you is my opinion, but rather fact and information from within the industry. You can take it or leave it, but it appears to me that your conclusions are based in confirmation bias and pro-regulatory opinion.
  14. Let me make this very clear, because I am not going to repeat it again: Net Neutrality is a regulatory takeover of the internet by the FCC. Period. You're arguing for the sake of arguing, and I do not need to repeat myself any more than I already have. Also, you said: And to repeat myself, ICANN does not now, nor has it ever run the internet, regardless of what you, or even Ted Cruz chooses to believe. Control and distribution of IP/web addresses and domain registry is strictly end-user oriented, and has nothing to do with the technology, infrastructure, maintenance, or design of the web.
  15. Does skankhunt42 remind anyone else of Hogboy?
  16. That's pretty much what I suspect as being the case, but I'm learning that it's easy to be wrong when making predictions with this show.
  17. Those are certainly two names they will call anyone who opposes their bringing Syrian refugees here en masse.
  18. That's exactly how I'll be imagining him from now on.
  19. If you're being serious, that's the most pathetic thing I've ever read. If that's an attempt to bait anyone into agreement, it's the most pathetic thing I've ever read.
  20. You're right. It's not very bright of them, since I believe the vast majority of Americans would completely support bringing Syrian refugees here if the Democrats publicly embraced thorough vetting of each individual. It's disingenuous of them to call people racists for being critical of their bringing so many here so quickly.
  21. ICANN does not, and never has "run the internet". You're obviously going to believe what you want. I'm obviously going to believe you're wrong. I've covered everything that I know without getting into technical specifics, and you're welcome to consider it or ignore it either way.
  22. You need to ask? Okay, then - yes, they have control of the internet, at least in the regulatory sense. No, I do not want them to be involved at all. I've bent over backwards to present you facts without political or partisan bias. I've worked in the industry for 23 years, I perform installation, maintenance, and repair on everything from simple DSL and digital television in the first/last mile, as well as deployment and maintenance of major interstate data carriers, and the entire 911 network, both analog and digital, for all of central Texas. I'm not arguing politics, only that the development of the internet and access to customers was developed by telephone companies and ISPs without government regulation. In fact I would remind you that it was government regulation that led to AT&T's original monopoly of all telecom, and it wasn't until MCI sued, causing the breakup of AT&T's monopoly that prices came down and new phone companies emerged.
  23. That has to be one of the most retarded articles I've in my entire life.
  24. Just throwing this out there for consideration: scientific "consensus" was such that Newton's definition of gravity went unquestioned for several hundred years. Then along came Einstein and expanded on it - proving that even something as simple and understandable as gravity can hold new discoveries about its nature, and that assuming that something as fluid as climate science could possibly be "settled" is ignorant.
