  1. You should read the article (oh, you just did - nevermind ) "Drivers ordered to use the devices would lease them for an estimated $100 a month." And if people are willing to drive drunk, they're probably willing to risk a Class-1A misdemeanor if they get caught -- because they don't think they'll ever get caught.
  2. Everything in moderation.
  3. I LOVED the first season. The second season was rather bland and tedious for the most part. I haven't watched it since, although seasons 3 and 4 are recorded on my DVR. I might get to them at some point. They really blew it in season 2 - they had the momentum from the first season, but they did a poor job starting the second season. It's too bad, because there's too many crime/drama shows on TV and not enough fantasy/sci-fi.
  4. Like I said, in general I agree - but like KD said, what's to stop the next step being everyone has to have one of these things? And what's to stop someone from going out and buying a new car without the device? You can buy a used car for cheaper than the $1200/year this device costs the person. People drive with suspended licenses all the time, so why would driving a non-equipped car be any different?
  5. You don't know what you're missing.
  6. I'm torn on this one. On one hand, I don't like government getting their nose in people's personal lives. On the other hand, I don't like drunk drivers killing people... http://www.startribune.com/politics/941386...3aPc:_Yyc:aUUsZ
  7. Interesting concept. I know Radiohead did something like this with their "Rainbow" album -- you could pay however much you wanted to download the entire album. I think I paid $5 for it; I had only heard one or two Radiohead songs in the past, so without that promotion I probably wouldn't have bought the album at all. Now someone is applying the same concept to food. http://www.startribune.com/business/941360...7PQLanchO7DiUsr
  8. It's very tasty!
  9. Some of my coworkers found that site many months ago, and challenged one of my employees to eat it. They all pitched in a few bucks to order it. The guy ate about 2/3 of it but wasn't able to finish the whole thing. We had the defib unit sitting next to him, just in case. They cut the rest of it up for others to try. It's REALLY tasty -- but you can only eat a couple of bites before the salt completely drains the liquid from your mouth. I think they'd make a great snack to leave out at a party, but it's definitely not for an entire meal.
  10. I guess I don't mind waiting 24-48 hours to get my products... Saves a ton of money that way too
  11. My yearly property tax is roughly 2% of what our home is appraised at. A complete ripoff, if you ask me. Like you said, I think a big portion of that goes to education...
  12. What picture was on the poster...? And how old's your son...?
  13. Pictures might help.
  14. I'm curious what an enginner does as well....
  15. Good news. First of all, the guy never left me any feedback. I waited until after the 60 days before re-listing the item because I was afraid that I'd list it and he'd give me negative feedback, and then people would shy away from bidding on the item. I put it back up for auction last week, and today the auction ended -- and it went for $200 more than last time! Even better, it was purchased by a company in Utah that digitizes stuff - so they'll know how to use it! http://www.slidescanning.com/ I looked through their bidding history, and they've purchased several of these over the past few months (for generally more than they paid for mine - so it's a win-win ). Everything seems to have worked out for the best - although I won't know for sure until 40 days from now.
  16. I agree - Trader Joe's is really good. They sell Virgil's root beer really cheap too!
  17. Just found this website - Grooveshark.com - and it's pretty cool. Similar to Pandora, but it appears you can actually pick the songs you want to listen to and they have a lot to choose from! (no Pink Floyd, due to a lawsuit between them and EMI though).
  18. My wife LOVES Wegman's and wants one in Minnesota -- and she's only been in the store a half-dozen times.
  19. You're going to burn Philly down?! Sweet!
  20. Well, I think the ship goes from LA to Miami via the Canal. I suppose if there was bad weather near Miami, they'd just leave us out at sea longer.... Extending the vacation for free..... Maybe November sounds good after all! The downside is that I'd end up missing a Bills game or two... or is that a good thing?
  21. Hmmm, good point....
  22. Wife and I are thinking about doing a Panama Canal cruise in November. Has anyone been on such a cruise? We've been on two cruises - one to Alaska, and one across the Pacific to/from Hawaii. Both were awesome.
