  1. It takes 3 minutes in a whirley pop....
  2. I'm a fan of adding cayenne to the oil. Mmmm. The Whirley-Pop is awesome: http://www.popcornpopper.com/24101.html The popcorn isn't very good for you, since the packages use coconut oil, but it tastes fantastic. We use healthier oil and our own kernels when we don't want to clog our arteries. Baby-white kernels are excellent, as are the purple kernels: http://www.popcornpopper.com/41401.html http://www.popcornpopper.com/2amishpurple.html CW

    Trade?

You'd think -- but nobody seems to want him for some reason.... I've used Warner as my OT player all season -- if the game ends in a tie, we look at the OT player, highest score wins. Basically guarantees me that if we tie, I'll win. But I'd rather get a good HB for him... Tried trading for Ricky Williams or Ronnie Brown, and both were turned down.
  4. Why? Seriously, I guess I always assumed that they had to work in harmony. Why does the back of the house hate the front of the house?

  6. Your comparing drafting to front office signings... They're different beasts.
  7. This one is interesting. When I was in England, the servers at every restaurant I went to seemed confused when I asked for plain water, many of them asking, "You mean tap water...?" It was really weird... Is there something wrong with the tap water in London???
  8. I suppose something could change... We could stop being competitive in the first half and just suck the whole game. Show me some examples of switching head coaches in mid-season that had a positive effect on the rest of the season? Might as well just wait until the end of this season when some of the big-name coaches are coming back to the NFL.
  9. And what exactly would stepping down accomplish? Oh that's right, absolutely nothing. Move along.
  10. How can you say not re-signing a player is just like making a bad draft move......???? I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree (as some others disagree with you as well).
  11. Feel free to play caption the photo - although most of them are way too easy: http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/
  12. In 2000, we had a lame duck drafting, ready to pick up his tent and fly to SD. In 2001, we had a good draft -- Clements became the highest paid corner in the league, Schobel is still with the team and playing at a high level (see how we fell apart once again once he was out of the game? Kinda like we were flying high until he was injured last year), and Henry turned out to be a very good HB until the drug thing... But I believe we traded him for a pick, right? In 2002, we missed on our first pick -- but it was hardly a "risky" pick. Sometimes these things happen. Reed and Denney are still on the team. Half those people you listed would NEVER have been selected with the 4th overall pick either -- and Buffalo reportedly tried trading out of the spot but found no takers. In 2003, we drafted Willis - a dangerous pick, but we ended up getting some years out of him and a draft pick when we traded him (Edwards - still on the team, for now), and Kelsay is still on the team as well - and has been looking decent this year too. I'm failing to see how our drafts were "terrible," based on your post. It's easy to cherry pick the big names after the fact -- but it's also telling that, for example, you could only find 6 players in the top 75 picks in 2004 that Buffalo should've picked. The draft is a crap shoot. And bad teams make it even worse by destroying players, IMHO (ie: Losman, Edwards, and every other QB since Kelly).
  13. They have a lot more than just junk food... At least here in the Twin Cities. You can buy a gallon of milk for around $1.80 (it's over $3 in the grocery store). You can buy ground beef, chicken breasts, veggie platters, etc, all for a lot less than the grocery store. In addition, they have gas which is significantly cheaper than the regular gas station. As you noticed, cleaning supplies and paper products are much cheaper as well. Condiments and spices are also generally much cheaper than a grocery store, as are candy bars and cereal (now we're getting to the junk food ). I agree that not everything is a deal - but I wouldn't write it all off. And I'm sure the same goes for Costco.
  14. I just started playing Borderlands today -- very cool game. I wasn't sure what "class" to choose, so I picked the Siren because of her magical powers. Hopefully wasn't a mistake - since she doesn't seem to have many powers to start with! So we'll see what happens... Overall, I played for a couple of hours and it was a lot of fun though. Can't wait to try online.
  15. Taiyo Yuden and Ritek Ridata were generally considered the best a year or two ago. I would assume that hasn't changed. http://www.meritline.com/dvd-r-blank-media...imageField2.y=5 Meritline is the only place I buy media from as well -- great place to shop, been buying from them for at least 7-8 years. That said, nowadays I'm not sure that it matters as much as it did 8 years ago... CW
  16. They're both pretty much the same. Take the one that's most convenient to get to.
  17. I'd agree with this. Alternatively, if there's just a few songs, and you can't figure out how to rip, you could just order the individual MP3 files from Amazon.com -- generally costs $0.89/each. Then she'd just have to figure out how to put them on a CD (or find a family member who knows how). That said, I'd still recommend emailing - although you might have to send one at a time, due to mail size limits.
  18. Part of it is comfort as well -- Quark was released on Mac first and not ported to Windows for ~5 years if I recall. So people who first used Quark did so on a Mac -- and generally people don't like change. GEOS brings back some memories....
  19. Wow John, I expected more from you... You're making yourself look like a moron, just like I said in my post. If you actually read my posts, you'll see me constantly saying that Windows actually does not crash very often (and when it does, it's generally because of either bad hardware, or people installing bad, non-MS software -- stuff that probably isn't even available on Mac, thus adding to the "Mac never crashes" fallacy). Yeah, back in the Win95, Win98, WinME, and Win2k days, it did crash quite frequently. Not so with WinXP and Vista (and Win7). Even your Motorola software comment points to bad 3rd party software, and has nothing to do with the OS itself, now does it? (of course you'll also see that I'm not really a Windows or Mac guy, but rather do most of my daily work on UNIX). Mac actually has a high number of security issues and updates as well, but Mac folks seem to just brush them off. I'll even do your research for you: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222 But it's pointless arguing with people who aren't willing to actually open up their eyes. Like I said - it's a tool; use what you like, but must people always bash other options? Each platform has its pluses and minuses.
  20. Nice post. That's not opinion, it's fact.
  21. Did you actually READ the article you linked to....? Apple ripped off Xerox, plain and simple, even if the article is trying to sugar coat it. Xerox PARC let Apple look at their stuff in exchange for a $1M investment in Apple -- win-win for a fledgling computer company! That doesn't give them the right to infringe on any copyrights, which they did. Then when MS tried to rip off Apple, MS was sued. But guess what? Xerox sued Apple too, they just waited too long and the case was thrown out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Compute...oft_Corporation Apple wasn't ahead of the curve -- they just infringed upon Xerox's copyright of the the mouse and the GUI. Xerox PARC's problem was that they were researchers, not businessmen. And if you want to talk about ripoffs, do you know what MacOS is? It's UNIX. NetBSD and FreeBSD, to be exact. It just has a pretty cover. Seriously people, it's a tool. If you like using Mac, great. If you like using Windows, great. If you like using *NIX, great. They each have their pluses and minuses -- just don't start spewing off crap about how "Mac is the greatest! It never crashes! It never needs updates! It has no security problems!" Because then you just look like a moron.
  22. DirecTV charges a $6 DVR fee, regardless of the number of DVRs you have. You also get charged $5/receiver in the house - but as I said, it doesn't matter if it's a DVR or regular receiver. They have software you can install on your PC to stream video from the DVR to the PC as well. I'm assuming that means in the near future you'll be able to stream video from one DVR to another -- that'd be slick.
  23. Sounds good -- although I won't be able to talk much -- laryngitis from this illness.
  24. It's both online and in store.
  25. Woah! You'll save a fortune just in DVR fees if you switch to DirecTV! (I'm not sure what Dish's DVR policy is).
