  1. All that dark money is going to come in so they can elect that white boy they're getting ready to run.
  2. Thanks for your insight. As someone who isn't in the medical field although I did work with insurance and pharmaceutical companies. Seems to me ACA is good deal if you're poor and get either Medicaid or a subsidy. Everyone else has just been made to pay more with no real improvement in services and in a lot of cases you couldn't keep the Dr. you like. If you're going to try to sell Medicare for all,you at least need to make sure everyone understands Medicare is not free. You gotta pay $250 or so that comes out of Social Security and there are co pays. Bernie never mentioned this and thus many young people believe it to be free. Maybe we could get there if we started to lower the Medicare eligibility age incrementally. ie, now it is 65. Next year it could be say 62. The 3 years after that we drop it 60. 3 years later drop it to 55. Slowly move into it and build up the infrastructure along the way until everyone is covered. Of course this would require a government that can think and act past the next election. A commitment that future leaders might stick to as opposed to throwing out all the old President's stuff with a large stack of Presidential Proclamations on inauguration day. So good luck.
  3. https://time.com/5379164/mccain-health-care-legacy-aca/ That was to repeal it in 2017 after it had been law for 8 years. So you like the ACA I take it since McCain killed the chance of killing it which you seem to think is heroic. Serious question: You were a doctor pre and post ACA. On a scale of 1 (sucked and hurt) to 10 (fixed health care for everyone), how much do you think it helped/hurt medical care in America all politics aside?
  4. @Joe Ferguson forever - Was also going to add the ACA passed 243-173 in the House of Representatives and 60-39 in the Senate. All yes votes by Democrats. They could have passed whatever they wanted and the ACA is what they chose to pass.
  5. I knew as soon as congress while working on the ACA decided to invite insurance companies to testify and help we were screwed. And we still are.
  6. Bill Clinton? Are yall still talking about him? He's a creep.
  7. Cancelling congress for the summer so they don't have to vote on releasing Epstein files? Grab 'em by the republican.
  8. I disagree. President Trump is a major league troll and is trolling. He did all through his first term. He says something outlandish to get a reaction and change the subject. Here's an article about it: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/donald-trump-is-the-worlds-greatest-troll/ I don't know , was there any on topic discussions President Trump might want to disrupt when the message was tweeted? And he seems to have provoked you into an emotional response. However, I do agree with you El Presidente should absolutely not be acting in this gross, petty, childish way. But we get to choose the reaction. He wants us to wig out and get mad and act crazy. Instead, on something like this, I prefer the reaction to laugh or shake my head or something and declare "there goes Trump again" and move on. I wish nore people and especially the news media and Democrat elected officials would do this. After much lefty consternation after a few days all is forgotten and we're on the next troll. At this point, It's a pattern one can smell from a mile away. Don't be a sucker. And then toss in President Trump's decades long grudge with the NFL back to his $3 settlement in regards to NFL collusion or what it was. If he wants to change a team name he shoulda bought one (if he had enough money).
  9. I don't miss him either. Once the clown we have now is gone I won't miss him either.
  10. Troller-in-Chief is up to his old tricks. You gotta hand it to him. the dude can troll.
  11. Today is the 6 month mark. We're now 12.5% through. We're gonna get through this. Makes me optimistic about the future.
  12. I'm gonna call BS on this one. If they run out of insulin they ain't gonna live long enough to vote in the next election.
  13. Not sure this is evidence cuz you have to consider the source. President Trump himself admitted to purposefully walking in on Miss Teenage America contestants while they were in varying stages of undress. He Also claimed to "grab them by the pu$$y". Does sound kind if pedophilia like behavior to me. Do you think it doesn't?
  14. Serious question: Do you think an answer from Grok which gets it's information from Twitter and the internet proves anything?
  15. Good. It wasn't funny. As a Colbert Report fan I was sad to see it cancelled. I watched a couple of episodes of the new show figuring it would probably be good. It wasn't. Too much lefty politics and too little humor. Bring back The Colbert Report.
  16. Under. They both have to show me they can consistently catch the football and make the big catch first.
  17. This is my theory too. You really think President Trump was Jeff's only friend that he has pictures or whatever of? Think they're all Democrats? I am not even saying President Trump was involved with the pedophilia. Maybe he was maybe he wasn't but enough bigwigs on BOTH sides were. That's what's holding this up. That's why President Biden didn't release it and why No member of congress has introduced a bill to have it released. Even President Trump has said as much when he said it would ruin a lot of lives if released. It is rich that in this case President Trump is all the sudden concerned about ruining someone's life. For those of us old enough to remember, a very similar case happened in the 1990s when madam Heidi Fleiss' client list allegedly containing the names of prominent members of congress was discovered and threatened to be released. However it was quashed and never saw the light of day. If it exists, this stuff will never see the light of day either.
  18. These files will never see the light of day I suspect. For the same reason President Biden didn't release them. Too many national elected officials from both sides involved. Another case of history repeating itself. Heidi Fleiss anyone? She allegedly had client lists including members of congress yet those never surfaced either. Don't hold your breath.
  19. $4.49 where I live. It's gone up $0.40 since January 20.
  20. So. He had enough to go to college AND grad school which was enough. More than many men with their name on the Viet Nam memorial had. Rationalize it however it makes you feel good. The allure to Virginia Beach was the beach and the good sized waves. Did go to Colonial Williamsburg a couple of times too. Still have some pictures from there.
  21. Got any proof on the medical exam doctor? Or any proof that he really does have asthma? Any reports or health records or seeing him with an inhaler or asthma medication? Anything? Look, they both used their money to wiggle out of being drafted. Not a good look for either one. And both guys' supporters have no room to talk on the issue. Have fun in Virginia Beach. I am very familiar with it. While stationed at the Naval Amphibious Base there in 1977 we'd hop in my VW bus and head to the beach almost every weekend. Sometimes in the evening as it was only about 20 miles off base.
  22. Thanks for sending me this "fact check". You were right. I was wrong. I Said President Biden got 4 deferments while your fact check says he got 5. This what I love about fact checks. They disprove a small part on a technicality and then claim the whole thing as mostly false. He got 5 deferments and then had a medical exam and somehow got diagnosed with asthma even though he had been on the football team. This in 1968, the year with the most US serviceman deaths n the whole war. https://www.militaryfactory.com/vietnam/casualties.php How convenient. I agree with @sherpa somewhat. It was easy to get out of being drafted if you had money to go to college. And then if the war is still going on when you graduate, go to grad school. I also agree with him it was a dumb/criminal war. But I can't just wave it off as he does. Where the rubber meets the road, for every college student that was deferred, some schmuck that couldn't afford to go to college was drafted and went and maybe didn't come back. This is my biggest gripe with President Biden. He deferred himself with 4 5 deferments yet was more than happy to send other people and other people's kids to the quagmire that was Iraq.
  23. Use the search function and look for yourself while you have all this time headed to Virginia Beech.
  24. Not me. I can't stand President Trump but I'll hang with anybody as long as they aren't #######s. Even better if politics doesn't come up. I don't have a fearless leader but I assume you are speaking of President Trump. Please don't take this as any kind of defense of Uncle Donald cuz it's not. But it seems hypocritical for fan of President Biden who also got 4 deferments to bring this up. His for "asthma" even though he was on the football team. Not Ron Kovic. Happy Birthday Ron.
