  1. Were all the 10 AFC teams that didn't make it just unlucky?
  2. This is the answer IMHO. The difference was this year we found a way to win a few close games past teams would have figured out a way to lose. 3 games in particular come to mind. Against thE defending NFC champs in their own house. The snow game. Looked lost til our D forced a 3 and out. We get the football back and our 3rd string QB hits a WR signed off the street the month before. Against TB, we were winning most of the game but found ourselves down 7 with 3:00 to play. O and D came together with big plays for the win. During the drought we regularly lost games like this. That's the difference IMHO. As far as the luck I angle, it calls to mind a quote from the late great Louis Pasteur. "Chance favors the prepared mind."
  3. I can't listen to him. He sounds like a low budget business consultant spouting well worn phrases about commitment and process blah blah blah ad nauseum. Love the winning though.
  4. If we had been winning, Rex would have been a lot of fun. But since we didnt, he was just another blithering loud mouth. Too bad. He had the talent, just couldn't make it happen (due to his own buffoonery).
  5. Quinn Early Flutie Rob Johnson Drew Bledsoe Spikes Lee Evans Fred The Beast Mario Williams EJ I don't like the Nike jerseys. I only have a couple. Not planning on getting any more any time soon.
  6. Rex did have the best record of the drought coaches.
  7. All you gotta do is watch a few games last year to see he has catch problems. drops is too subjective to be a stat IMHO. JUSt curious, what's the criteria for a "drop" in these stats? Clay drops way too many passes too. 1/2 of Hotrod's picks last year bounced off of Clay's hands into a waiting DB's hands.
  8. I miss his offensive prowess. Top third in the league in scoring two years in a row.
  9. True. I looked it up and you are indeed correct. Thanks for the correction ?????
  10. At least they rank ahead of "The Ocho".
  11. Come on man. I wonder how many other playoff teams fans are wondering if they'll have a better record than the Clowns? I think you might be stuck in drought thinking mode again. did you by chance predict a 3 or 4 win season last year too? Grass is always greener ...

  13. We didn't trade UP to take EJ. We traded DOWN and took Robert Woods with the pick we got from Lambs. Too bad EJ didn't work out
  14. The Mighty Titans were only able to beat us with a tricky illegal play that should have been called back in their own house against us playing our backup QB who had a bad game. World beaters? I think not. Flutie plays, we win, and it ain't even close. You'll NEVER convince me otherwise ?
  15. I think you're right on with this one.
  16. or it will get louder. It all depends on Mr. Jones. This of course assumes he makes the team. Nice. Any videos of the band online?
  17. We don't need no stinkin' chearleaders. Glad we don't have 'em.
  18. You're tough. AJ has yet to take a snap as a Bi!l and already he is classified as a "bad Bills QB". Ouch.
  19. I was at the Chuck Knox Ring of Honor ceremony in Seattle in 2005. I wonder if there are any other coaches on multiple ring of honors?
  20. if RJ hadn't fumbled the football out of the back of the EZ for a safety, that forward lateral "TD," would still not given them enough points to win. After the resulting free kick giving them excellent field position and motivation, they scored their only TD of the game. Flutie starts that game we win going away. The other one I didn't like was dumping Fred when we did.
  21. 1998 - Flutie and a really good D and supporting cast. 2 games in particular i remember. Game 4 vs 49ers. Bills came in 0-3. Looked like a blood bath waiting to happen. On the way to game, wife and her cousin are discussing where to meet up if we get way behind. I would hAve none of that. Rob Johnson and the Bills jumped on 'em getting ahead 20 zip at the half. Steve Young got hot in garbage time but Bills hang on 26-21. Game 16 at Saints - we wanted to go to a Flutie game. I got tickets to final game. But wouldn't you know it, the Bills had our spot locked in so Flutie didn't play. It was fun watching Mike Ditka patrolling thE Saints sidelines. Bills whooped up.
  22. I remember perfectly well what good football looks like. I grew up in Dallas and was a HUGE Cowboys fan during the entire Tom Landry era until Smiley bought the team and trashed it out. I would argue that it was even BETTER football than you remember. 5 conference championships. 2 SB wins. 20 straight winning seasons. 3 straight franchise QBs. The drought taUght me how hard it is to do that stuff. Also it doesn't happen over night. Last season was finally when we made a GIANT step forward. I'm excited to see what this year brings. No re-energizing needed thank you very much. To each his own. Go BILLS !!
  23. Maybe if we make the playoffs AGAIN this year it will be in a #34 approved manner. Go BILLS !!
  24. i fail to understand this !o gic. ThE team missed the playoffs SEVENTEEN years in a row. Won 5 out of last 7. Made the playoffs and lose by a TD. And you can't get excited about that? You need to be re-,energized? A lot of glass half emptiers it seems.
