Jason LaCanfora and Peter King reports from Bills camp
reddogblitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's cool Personally, I don't put any credence in what sport writers sitting in the stands tweet or report about the QBs in practice. When the pre season games start we may be able to tell a little more. But really, we won't know anything until they play in the regular season. I think AJ could be really good. Maybe not. A week from tonight we'll have a little better idea. I just don't see how you can tell that AJ is doesn't seem very good at this point. I find it puzzling, but to each his own I guess. I'm also curious why you think the bolded. Personally, I think the jury is still out on all 3. -

Cool avatar. But evidently not much gray matter between the horns. -

If the jury is not out, what's the verdict? Can you really judge if a QB is no good on 4 games when he threw 6 TDs and 2 picks and brought his team from behind to take the lead late in a playoff game only to be blown by Bungle defenders getting 2 Personal Fouls resulting in 30 yards in penalties setting up the opponents game winning FG? OK. -

Nasty Nate I can see. But the jury is still way way way out on AJ IMHO. -

Do these losses we get while we "get Allen in there and see if he can do it" go on Sam Monson's permanent record? Sure it's fine if you're a fan or sportswriter to say just toss the kid in and see what he can do. But Coach McDermott is a smart coach. he knows that if you're losing too many games you're out quickly regardless of if you got Allen in to "see if he can do it" or not. A coach that is rebuilding is rebuilding for the next coach that comes in. Think of the Gus/Marrone scenario. Not to mention what it will do to players like Shady and Kyle Williams and Kelvin Benjamin and Jerry Hughes if one of the other guys does better in TC/PS/practice than Allen. Mutiny in the locker room is never pretty. Great idea for getting clicks, but dumb for a coach that wants to build for the future and WIN NOW. Use last season as your guide. Many sportswriters thought the Bills should roll with Nasty Nate to "see what he can do". If we followed their advice then we'd be sitting on 18 right now. Of course if Allen suddenly "lights it up" and is ready in the eyes of Coach McDermott, by all means ... -
Allen already a factor in QB race ?

vs a guy with 3 NFL games and 2TD s 6 picks vs a guy that has played 0 NFL games and was drafted AS A PROJECT. Not that shocking. -

i think it fell apart for EJ after he came back from the injury in the Clowns game. I was at the Ravens game at the Ralph when they were defending champs a couple of weeks after Carolina. EJ played well. He hit Woods on a nice 45 yard bomb. I swear he made one of the best ball fakes I've ever seen. He faked a hand off to the RB and then stood there like he was watching. In the mean time Lee Smith snuck out in the flat and EJ lobbed pass to Lee, but Lee tripped over his own feet and couldn't reach it. Next play he hits Woods in the EZ for a ,TD but it got over turned on"process of the catch" nonsense. at half time of the Cleveland game I and many others on here thought maybe we had found our guy. Then the injury and then it fell apart. Sad. -

I am so with you here. I'm going to be watching those short throws in pre season. If he is indeed having trouble with them as reported, he has no bidness anywhere near the field until he can.NFL is passing league and most of them are short. -

What about Alex Smith? He started right away and was bad for years. Usually a guy like this gets tossed out. A bust. Shouldn't have started right away. But, then they get a new coach and he was really good. Good thing he started right away. -

The Bills 2nd 1st round pick speaks volumes on the Allen starting year 1 question. If they wanted Allen to start right away they probably would have taken Ridley. But they went D instead. Makes me think it's a red shirt year for Josh. Trust the Process. What's the hurry? He ain't going nowhere. -

Alex was the first pick. He started right off and stunk until Hardball arrived 4 years later I think it was. I was shocked. I used to think he stunk and made fun of him. Now I think he is one of the top QBs. He really turned it around. I think he proves coaching matters a lot for young QBs -

Ok. I went to the VA for 7 years in late 70s and early 80s. Was not a fan. I would spend the whole morning there for an appointment. Then I got a real job and family and health insurance. Then my prescriptions went up and up and up so I went back. It's much better now. I go to an office for some stuff. Some I go to hospital. Looks clean but I've never been inside the pharmacy. I get right in. My care there has been excellent. I'm not an amputee or need extensive care like the guys at Walter Reed. One man's first hand knowledge: Quality care from good doctors and good customer service. Can't speak to yelp reviews. Maybe the VA needs to spend some coin to get some better reviews written? -

And hopefully we don't get in the position where we are paying our QB so much we can barely field a whole team kindof like the Lions and others. Hopefully Josh Allen is the second coming of YA Tittle. -

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I had mine done there when I was 21 or so. I didn't get put to sleep or get laughing gas or fancy pain meds.. Novacaine and Tylenol 3. But it worked. My wife once got an infection in a private Dentist's office. -

Have you ever been treated at a VA mecdcal center? I have. I get some of my care there and it's good. It's not like you hear about. Sure they fug up sometimes, but they also have a ton of heroes to take care of. What hospital doesn't? I'm not saying the govt should run health care like that for everyone, but it's not the sh!t hole it's made out to be either. I had my wisdom teeth pulled at the VA and it went well.
