  1. Yet, by several measures, in Detroit, Miami, San Diego and Houston, we've faced four of the best defenses in the NFL and have, on at least four occasions, counting the Houston game, put together a winning offensive game plan. So, please. Let's not equate "good" game plan with the game plan you think they should be running.
  2. ...unless that player is in contract negotiations.
  3. Sounds like we need to find a back and get an interior line who can actually run the game plan. Wait, I'm sorry. We need to "get him in space." Yes, yes, that's it! Get him in space. That should be easy and it sounds kinda insider-ish. Get him in space. That's the solution that's right in front of the coaching staff's face. Everyone on a message board knows it. How come they don't? Get him in space.
  4. First we need to focus on getting Lee Smith the space he needs. Then we can worry about Hughes.
  5. The "get him in space" defense again, huh? Nearly impossible to imagine a reality where Hackett hasn't considered this. But never mind that, fans. Let's just keep pretending it's that simple.
  6. Haha. Wasn't yours, the one above it.
  7. Knowing now how egregious my number is compared to the norm, let me give you a glimpse inside so you understand how I arrived at such a bonkers number. This is the kind of post that has gotten a man slated to the ignore list: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/171643-worst-bills-player-top-3-listed-please-vote/page__st__40#entry3281521
  8. I may consider adding a new Gugny quote as my signature. You should have stopped after Warner.
  9. So you're one of those fans that goes to great lengths to criticize the Bills for things that haven't even happen? Why? There's plenty of things that HAVE happened that deserve the calories.
  10. You don't recall the holdouts? The unverifiable injuries?
  11. I don't profess to be a member of the Bills organization. Wanting or not wanting is one thing. Taking action on it that disrupts your team's development, that' different.
  12. Karma? Karma.
  13. Just because it wasn't perfect, doesn't mean it was bad. First quarterback taken and taken midway through the first. He was and remains a project, picked primarily for his potential. I don't know how a project QB @ 16 is a hasty move. And while it pains me to say, since we've been saying it about EJ for a year and a half: we'll have to wait and see. If/when he has a career resurgence or if/when he's given a chance (barring injury) to start again, THEN we'll know whether or not that project was a failed effort.
  14. Can we PLEASE stop posting EJ's stats as if they offer any indication, whatsoever, to his level of play? They don't. He doesn't find his receivers, he doesn't throw/run with authority, the offense has no rhythm when he's out there, the line breaks down when he holds it too long and he's left MANY yards/TD's on the field. These things don't show up on the stat sheet, but we all know them to be true. And I don't think there's anyone out there that would argue that his performance is best reflected in the numbers. Because it's not.
  15. The way I choose to look at it: "Busts" are wasted picks. The Bills used their 9th overall pick 2013 to draft EJ and Kiko. So, no. The Bills 9th pick was NOT a bust in 2013.
  16. Hmmm...definitely a much more polished QB than EJ. Hate to see the game-ending pick, though. Ball comes out in rhythm, which is nice. Some throws behind (including aforementioned pick). I know some here will find this outrageous, but I trust Hackett to put together a better game plan than Bill Callahan.
  17. He gave them 2 of their 16 losses in 2008? SWEET!
  18. Do you consider 2 years "long term?" Because at 31, I'm thinking that's how long Orton can/may stay at the healm.
  19. I call them a sleeping giant because the world hasn't seen what they're capable of yet. Watkins/Woods have yet to catch the ball on the run. Goodwin has seen zero on-target deep passes. And Williams hasn't had many opportunities to go up and snatch one. All these scenarios are suddenly back in play. We, as fans, have expected to see them. The rest of the world may be shocked to find out what kind of resources we have available in our receiving corps. Then again, Orton might get hurt or lay a giant turd. Only time will tell!
  20. Given how few opportunities the WR's have had for YAC, I'm expecting them to play angry on Sunday. I really feel an upset coming on. I wonder if Detroit understands the extent to which a sleeping giant may have just been stirred.
  21. Yep. While the context may be thwarted, there's plenty of other evidence to support the notion that--in general--Watkins/Woods need to concentrate on doing their jobs. The possibility of Orton getting flattened in the first quarter is very, very real. They need to bring the same focus and attitude to the LOS no matter who's under center. It's their !@#$ing job.
