  1. Yesterday's move makes it very, VERY possible that Orton could start the rest of the year AND through the entire 2015 season while EJ and whichever quarterback(s) they draft learn from the sideline. Heck, we might even go into 2016 with Orton as the starter. I don't know what those words mean. Yep, the crowd adamantly claiming that Smith "wasn't the answer": they have some explaining to do. They did then, and they sure as heck do now. FA quarterbacks like Smith don't come around often. FA quarterbacks like Smith don't come around often when the long term goal is to groom a draft pick like EJ. I really wanted them to sign Smith. We would have made the playoffs last year with him. Shoot, we would have made the playoffs last year with Fitz. However, we were paying Fitz too much money, and Smith just signed a pretty hefty extension. The point remains, though: given the "options" at quarterback from the end of the 2012 season until now, it's hard to imagine a better scenario than the one we're dealing with now. I understand not being happy with the way things have worked out and being critical, but there really isn't much to point at as far what should have been done.
  2. I'd say half of mine have since been banned. Guess I came in a little high! Only one poster in this thread though.
  3. Aging? He's 31! He only has 70 career starts. Compare that to: Brees: 35/189 Big Ben: 32/146 Brady: 37/194 Manning 1: 38/243 Manning 2: 33/155 Matt Ryan: 29/98 Cutler: 31/108 Romo: 34/140 Rodgers: 31/91 Rivers: 33/132 I saw someone say they'd rather we'd have gotten McCown. Well... McCown: 35/41 Orton easily has four to five years left in him. Easily.
  4. I just added no. 43.
  5. I actually just switched my Pick 'Em pick for tonight to KC.
  6. Come on, buddy. They just needed him to be competent. They gave him 14 games to be competent. He is not. Yet.
  7. No it doesn't. Today's move makes it seem like they care about winning football games. Beyond that: it's wild speculation.
  8. So why didn't you start a thread to say that? Why solicit opinion if you clearly had your mind made up already?
  9. Considering he drafted EJ and Kiko with the first pick in 2013? No.
  10. Well, let's see how Kyle Orton does with--BY FAR--the best receivers/running backs he's had in his career.
  11. Could INflict damage on his psyche
  12. This film you speak of will be made available tomorrow to the gen. pop. who pay for the subscription.
  13. I'm going to make a completely unsubstantiated, speculative guess on this one: Because Robert Woods' lousy attitude has rubbed off on him. He's too willing to throw his hands up and B word that the pass wasn't right on the money. I understand his body language has left something to be desired (ditto Woods), and I've said in other threads, both of them (and all the receivers for that matter) need to stfu and deliver when called upon. Until they play perfectly, they have no business demanding perfection from EJ.
  14. Just a thought: Is anyone considering the nine hits he took, in addition to the sacks, in addition to the two 15 yard knee shots he took (the second of which should have gotten Watt ejected)? I'm not making excuses for the guy, but in light of all the above, it's not hard to wonder what might have happened to what was left of his already-questionable accuracy.
  15. Are you counting clean pockets when he gets hit after a throw?
  16. We'll wait for the all-22's to come out. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I think your assumptions are hasty.
  17. Haha, okay well, then let's introduce a third possibility: That best defensive player in the NFL, and arguably the best overall player in the league made a great play. That tends to happen from time to time too. For all we know he made a read and improvised. Then, oh, btw, out ran everyone to the endzone.
  18. Other problems like Chandler really not being that great and having to lean on four seriously green players in Richardson, Henderson, Woods and Watkins? I'll accept that. Falls under my prior assertion that EJ has to be perfect to overcome them when they're having bad days. They had bad days, he couldn't over come them. The kitchen fire spread quickly. Correct, and it's the same damn thing players on the offensive side of the ball are saying: buffalobills Chandler: "(EJ Manuel) made some great throws and we didn't help him out (as a receiving group)." #teamgame buffalobills .@EWood70: "Everyone wants to point at the QB ... It's not fair at times. We have to be better around him" pic.twitter.com/Kn2D9KTz9s
  19. Well a.) I was being sarcastic and b.) everyone needs to stop pointing to the Giants game as 'how to run on Houston" when the blue print to 'run on Houston' is having a quarterback named Eli Manning completing 75% of his passes with a pair of touch downs. And that's one assumption to be made. To counter that assumption, I'd offer the Miami game plan that was properly executed to neutralize Wake AND the fact that we're talking about a potential mistake made by a seventh round rookie. I'm not saying one is true and the other is fabricated. But if you had to play the odds, which do you think is more likely to have attributed to Watt running free? A complete and utter blunder by the OC who has already proven this year he knows how to neutralize a player like Watt? Or a complete and utter blunder by a seventh round rookie?
  20. Everyone on this board would have been perfectly satisfied with three straight runs after a turnover in the red zone to start the second half. Yep.
  21. Yeah, except they didn't. Our players couldn't overcome the opposing gameplan designed to shut them down by executing the counter game plan we had in place. That's how these things work.
  22. Yeah, let's run the ball into the eight-man wall that every defense since Trent !@#$ing Edwards has put up against us because they don't respect the passing game.
