But, you know that these things operate first and foremost on deadlines. So who blew theirs? But more importantly, did the Bills have one they could realistically honor?

The topic came up. It had to. And if you believe that it did, then the implication is that the FO LIED to M&T, and I'm not buying that. M&T wanted Jackson. They got him. Now they look dumb.

You know, I really want to believe that Timmah's not a complete twat. But he makes it so damn hard. He's just SUCH a little B word, especially on twitter. Faced with nothing but his timeline, we're left to reach one of two conclusions: his intellect is incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't see things his way; or he's a dim, defensive jerk who's been given a platform he doesn't deserve. I'm not kidding when I say that I try REALLY hard to find evidence of the former...it's just...not...there. I don't understand what the point of this tweet was. I just don't know--on what planet--that possibility WASN'T communicated. That can't POSSIBLY be the case. And if it is, then the M&T promotions people are either a.) bad at their jobs or b.) a bunch of nodding yesmen.

Also, I'm certain the M&T deal took MONTHS. Who's to say this was known way back then? They had no idea what would happen in camp with injuries, to Fred or otherwise. No, sorry. The FO owed M&T nothing in this deal for no other reason than they had NOTHING to give them. M&T is a !@#$ing bank. They should know a thing or two about calculated risk. This one bit them in the ass. Moving on.

This nonsense about Brown HAS to stop. They traded for/drafted a RB in the offseason. This notion that Brown is somehow a Whaley pet project needs to go away.

Must we revisit that baseless, silly, counterintelligent premise?

No, this is business. Classless? Do you want the Bills to win? Or do you want them to be classy? Do you know how crowded they are at RB/WR? I'm certain this was the case. To me this is like breaking up with a girlfriend you really really liked. Doesn't matter if she broke it off or you did, you know it's for the best. But the worst part is thinking of her with another guy. Fred in another team's uniform is something I had hoped to never see.

That's pretty much what everyone is saying.

Also, I wasn't expecting/am quite curious to read how many people here think he's better than Brown. Again, probably one of my favorite Bills of all-time. But I'm not blind.

I've been saying for a long time that he and Kyle Williams will be tough to supplant as my all-time favorite Bills. This is a sad day for Bills fans. I have no issue questioning the fanhood of anyone saying otherwise.

I hate it too. But I won't pretend to not understand it. Yep. And it's perfectly reasonable to be upset by this. Not because it's a mistake, mind you, because it's Fred. And if you're a Bills fan, that's reason enough.

The blocking on that play was superb...but, as always, so was Freddy's vision. I see a lot of people diminishing his effort because of the space he had to run through. Well, Fred is, and always has been a GD expert at FINDING that space on the run. CJ Spiller would have been bottled up for a 2-3 yards on that play.

Part of the reason EJ's well-placed laser to Clay looked so "easy" was because of how well EJ looked off the safety. Quarterbacking is much more than throwing.

This guy's logic is astonishing. Cassel got the least reps today. Starting QB's around the league got the fewest reps in the third preseason game. Therefor, Cassel is the starter. And yet EJ started...just like all the other starting QB's around the league in the third preseason game.
