  1. Fine. Ask and ye shall receive. 5th in receiving yards among RB's T-3 in receiving TD's with five other players. Nobody's saying these numbers aren't. They are, however, arguing vehemently that they're not great.
  2. I lopped in receiving yards so that the category couldn't be misconstrued or argued as a matter of excellence. The bad performances far outnumber the good ones. So, if you put a gun to my head and asked 'is he good or is he bad?' I'd have to go with the what the numbers tell me.
  3. Fine. Having to sidestep into a parallel universe is often the best way to understand the depth of Spiller's greatness.
  4. Which I understand, but given the dire backfield straits of the teams I mentioned in OP, those reasons would be letting perfect be the enemy of good.
  5. First, it was 2012. Second, borderline MVP? The year AP hung 2G's? No. Third, MVP of what? He was: 8th in rushing yards 17th in rushing TD's 44th in receiving yards 45-T in receiving TD's 5th in total yards from scrimmage 17th in total TD's So there you have it. CJ's one glorious year, characterized here as "borderline MVP" when his most sterling career accomplishment to date was being 5th in the NFL in total yards from scrimmage. Here we are in year six being told what a phenomenal player he is when his best season--and it was his best season by a friggin mile--wasn't, by any rational measure, special.
  6. I agree! I've always thought he looks GREAT running the ball. Smooth, explosive, great vision, finds the hole effectively, gets himself into space...you know...the OPPOSITE of everything that happens whenever Boobie touches the ball.
  7. Sorry, but this is a false equivalent of the most outrageous kind. McCoy has struggled through three games. It's not even remotely hypocritical to have patience with him and not with Spiller. Why? Well, geeze, let's see, since 2010: McCoy has played in 77 games, has 6,301 rushing yards, 40 rushing TD's, 2,057 rec yards and 11 rec TD's. Spiller has played in 72 games, has 3,332 rushing yards, 12 rushing TD's, 1, 236 rec yards and 6 rec TD's. Yeah, I'd say McCoy has earned the longer leash. Why? Well, because I've been saying over and over and over and over again in this thread, unlike Spiller, he's actually DONE something in the league.
  8. That has to be it. Then it has to be fumbles...right?? Can't argue that. Who do you cut to make room?
  9. Few posters here are more staunchly pro-player than me. That's a fact. Sorry, but about this time last year, I hopped off the Spiller bandwagon. I was done telling people to "wait until...." If there was a baby, Spiller, in his 5+ years in the league has never showed it to us. Period. Done. End of story. You can continue--as I accurately predicted you and others supporters would--arguing that he COULD be a great player. I'll happily concede that point. I believe it myself. But I won't sit here and tell you he IS a great player, because he simply HAS NEVER shown that he is, save for a 12-15 game stretch in the middle of his 83 game career.
  10. I'm hoping the Birds turn it around so I don't regret my wife paying $200/ticket for my birthday.
  11. False. Completely, utterly and egregiously unfairly FALSE.
  12. What's wrong with Bryce Brown? Is he a raging !@#$? We're led to believe he's not a dummy. Is he a head case? Impossible to get a long with> Because he's a MUCH better tailback than A LOT of guys with jobs right now. You mean to tell me Cleveland, Tennessee, Dallas, Miami, Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, NYG...NONE of these teams could benefit from having the guy on their rosters?
  13. It's either the line's fault, the coach's fault, the injuy's fault, the weather's fault, the referee's fault, the chef's fault, the guy who flew the chartered plane's fault, the fan's fault or his mama's fault. But it's never CJ's fault. Football players who can't overcome injuries or who can't not-be injured are ineffective football players, regardless of their potential...which CJ has plenty of. But, if injuries keep holding him back, and I won't argue that they haven't, then--sorry--once again, all the guy has is what he could do...if only.
  14. Per Fire's post...what about those of us who are in year six of sticking around? Seriously, the rebuttal...for six !@#$ing years now...has been "just you wait." Well, we're all still waiting.
  15. Nobody is questioning the man's potential. But, again, until he actually DOES something, and SUSTAINS it over a meaningful period of time, I'm not sure what exactly it is you're expecting from him. The argument is and always has been "he could be great therefore he's great" vs. "he could be great, but quite frankly he never has been." I know, he had like a 12 game stretch when he was superb. Fantastic. This is his sixth year in the league. His positive performances are far-outweighed by a body of evidence to the counter.
  16. I'm here to say I told you so.
  17. I'll be there. I'll be repping so hard. We're in the 300's somewhere, I think.
  18. Really gets you psyched when you see a schedule that has: Fitz/Geno (x2) Hoyer/Mallet Cousins/? Are we confident in calling those four wins right now? I am.
  19. Forget cleaning up the language, Rex is going to have problems not blowing a vein in his skull.
  20. And off the top of my head I can think of four TDs that were 20+ yards so far. Bomb to Percy 26 from Special K Rollout laser to Woods Go route to Sammy.
  21. I've heard the same thing. But I've also heard it's her preference to play indoors...on carpet.
  22. I hate this nonsense. It's absolute, unqualified nonsense. WIN. If Chelsea Clinton has to lace them up under center, so be it. I want division wins. Period.
  23. I don't know how something like that would ever get reported. It's purely conjecture.
