Raiders fans talk about Langston Walker
generaLee83 replied to Billsguy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope that you're right, that there was something in the water in Oakland that made that line collectively suck as bad as it did. We'll find out soon enough I guess, I hope that this wasn't a big mistake, we gave him the same contract that Fletcher got from Washington. -
Jason Peters vs. these new OL contracts
generaLee83 replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very good question, it would seem that he's in line for renegotiation as he's getting less money than either of the new guys. I'm not sold at all on this Walker guy, $25 million, risky. -
His leadership is what will most be missed in my opnion. With such a young defense I can't even think who is going to take over the reigns? I'm guessing Coy Wire lolololol

You know, I forgot about how often it seemed that he was penalized. -
Who steps up to lead the defense?

Well thank you sir, I just quit my job and I'm heading to Buffalo right now, I'll just tell Marv that you said it was okay. Is that cool? -

Signing any player to $25 million dollar contract who was part of one of the worst offensive lines in NFL history seems to be a real bad move to me. I don't understand this signing, look at how bad the Raiders OL was last year, sure you can't pin it on any one guy but to sign a part of that unit to a contract this large is absolutely moronic. -
New O-Line is Willis's ticket to HOF

Whoa kgun, I never said anything about illegal activities or his "baby mama" activities, that was another post on another day. Point blank, his effort and dedication is questionable at best. I've been at work all night, is your post sarcastic? pardon the retardation if it was sarcastic -
Our left side is now one of the best in football

The Two Big Ones are gone...
generaLee83 replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Terrence McGee does not have the physical ability or smarts to play as the #1 CB. Which LB corps are you talking about? Crowell (missed most of last season) Ellison (good in spot duty) and who is the third? the unproven Coy Wire? Offensively this team is now headed in the right direction, still unproven but seemingly looking potentially good. The defense has taken 2-3 steps backward, hopefully the draft will at least bring them up to mediocrity. -
Now that Clements and LFB are gone and TKO is seemingly dead in the water who will step up to be the team leader on defense? Seeing the contract that LFB received from Washington I can understand why he was not cut a deal in B-Flo, however it may have been worth giving him what he wanted though strictly for his well documented on field leadership. I always try to remember that professional athletes are not necessarily the brightest individuals in the world and do benefit from having a peer type leader for motivation. I just hope that the defense does not appear directionless.

Thank you for stating the simple truth. The Willis situation isn't going to get fixed, he will be gone, probably for a 5th round pick or outright release. Just becasue the Bills signed one seemingly good lineman and another 2 that are questionable at best (it seems) doesn't mean that Willis is going to become some smart, motivated player. the guy is junk and always will be If he's not playing the Jets he might as well not be on the field. -
Let me get this straight, Parrish is going to make 4.68 million this year? That's a sin
-
You got that right, I rushed for 1900 yards in 3 games under him.
-
You are dead on with that one, it kind of befuddles me as to how people think that the Bills are going to improve this year with McGee playing in the 1 spot.

Chances of the Bills trading down?
generaLee83 replied to willis da illest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm curious to see how willing the Bills are to take a 1st round DT this year with McCargo not really having been properly evaluated from 2006. If they do choose to gamble I would hope that it's a sure thing, my gut tells me that Marv will draft a CB in the 1st though. -
What's a realistic expectation for a trade (draft pick)? What's the cap hit if he's outright released?
-
hahaha, best thing I've read on this board in a week The article could be finished with "Buffalo will only have 29 players on it's roster this year as the 'cash to cap' approach has been eaten up by the Porter signing leaving Buffalo with many positions to fill. LB Keith Ellison has been named the 'starting linebacking corps" and Donte Whitner is expected to play both CB spots and SS safety simultaneously.

I think there is both, is it a wee bit pathetic that the threads get a bit out of hand at times on seemingly meager subjects? yes. at the same time there is often intelligent thought to be found here. In the grand scheme of things though we're discussing items that we really do not have much control over. Lately I'm trying to become a more passive fan, I'll respect what we're given on this team and hope that they play well.

Wow this is huge!!

Damion Shelton-not coming back
generaLee83 replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not the biggest S.Williams fan but with McGahee all but out the door it's probably a good move, I think he should have been offered 1 year though. -
It's going to depend on what the Pack gives up for Randy Moss. Favre has great character but his "holding on" seems to be setting back the development of his team, mix that with Randy Moss' quiet cancer approach in the locker room and his outrageous troubles in public and that team is going to be a serious mess. The Pack will be nothing to worry about for the next 3 years IMO, or at least until one of them retires.

Aside from the bummer Toronto Bills thing it was a pretty hilarious writeup.

Decided against renewing the season tickets today
generaLee83 replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Above are the first and last sentences from my original post. When I typed my thoughts at 530 this morning I was under the weather and failed to perceive the response that this post would create. I thought that the two sentences quoted would indicate to people that I love this team and absolutely hope to be proven wrong by this franchise and my sense of it's direction. If I am proven wrong it will be my regret/mistake because I certainly would love to have great seats to watch a solid contender. My point simply put is that I as a middle class season ticket holder (which when all expenses are added up equals 2-3k per year) am not comfortable with giving this franchise my money for several reasons. I will not re-state them as you can see the original post. I'm not leaving this team as a fan, I'm leaving this team as a financial contributor. Calling me a "weathervane" as someone creatively put or a "fair weather fan" just doesn't fit the bill. I've been with this team through thick and thin and if I was either of these terms (which did give me an honest laugh, not mean or sarcastic either) I would have jumped off the "bandwagon" or dumped this team over 10 years ago. My point in posting this here was not to make a statement to Ralph or Marv, both have better things to do and honestly probably wouldn't care much to here the opinions of a poster who has a monkey as his avatar. I'm not going to write some chain letter to the franchise or attempt some stupid boycott, I posted the original statement because I happen to believe that there are many intelligent people who reside at TBD, I wanted some thoughts, not necessarily vindication or confrontation, just some thoughts. If I have offended anyone I honestly apologize. Now just a TV fan, generaLee83 Go Bills! -
Decided against renewing the season tickets today
generaLee83 replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ramius, I thought that I made it clear in my post that I am and always will be a Buffalo fan. I just chose not to renew my tickets because I am unsatisfied with the product at hand and in my personal opinion it is not going to get better. I'm very sorry that you see this as being "friggin fareweather" or however you choose to phrase it. Nowhere in my original post did I curse out the players, the city or the heart of the fans. I merely believe that several recent managerial and PR moves by the Bills indicate a bigger problem at hand, now please don't be mad at me that I no longer wish to give my hard earned money to something that seems to be going in the wrong direction but it is my choice. I expressed my opinion because there are many thoughtful posters on this board and I was looking to get some decent repllies, not a four word insult that appears to have been typed out of anger and a lack of analysis. I am not a wealthy person by any means and could see the money spent in better ways. And if there is a Bills "bandwagon", it crashed in the mid 90's.
