  1. Look. A lot of where a qb is drafted depends on how his skills translate to the drafting team's offense that will be run. Ex. Nassib would not be a consideration for Philly... Manuel and Smith would. In Cleveland with Norv Turner at OC, Glennon & Bray would be a fit based on the history of offenses his run. For a team running a wc offense, Nassib, Barkley, & Wilson would be the best fit. So... for the Bills, who will be running a wc "no huddle" up tempo offense, what qb is the best prepared to do that? I'm in no way making a prediction of which qb they will draft, or when. I'm just looking at the offense we know the Bills will run and looking at the skill set of each qb and marrying their skills up with the team's offense based on that. If I'm wrong, big deal. I've been wrong a lot and on a lot of things, but I've been right too. In my opinion, based on the logic I'm using (right or wrong), I believe Nassib is the one.
  2. I believe what he's saying is that of all the QBs, because Nassib has a lower learning curve having played in the offense & knowing the terminolgy, he can hit the ground running, whereas other QBs can't. And some of the other QBs have an additional learning curve having only played exclusively out of the shotgun... which means they have footwork issues to deal with as well. Not that they can't pick it up and be good Qbs, but not likely this season... they'would be more of a project... ready in a year or two maybe. The one quality I see in Nassib that I don't see in the others is how quickly he reads, antcipates and gets the ball out of his hand. That's God given reflex action that you can't teach. You either have a quick mind/reflex action or you don't. You can suceed without it, but you better have exceptional physical gifts to do so. Gruden said this about Nassib... “The way he threw the football was as impressive as any guy I’ve seen in this draft,” he said. “He’s very accurate, has excellent touch. He’s gonna be a good player, you watch and see.” That being said, he also told Nassib to work on one particular area of his game. “You’ve got some of the worst slides I’ve ever seen in my life,” he told Nassib. Even still, he lauded the gunslinger’s athletic mobility. He called Nassib a “nuisance runner,” saying that he is “just gonna drive somebody crazy.” So a lot of this slow, not good touch, can't throw long (he heaved it 61 yds. on the QB challenge... Manuel, 66 yds.) is a lot of poo poo. It's the intangeables... he has them and he's the best prepared QB coming out to play for the Bills right away and for years to come. He fits better than the rest with this team.
  3. That kinda sucks, when you consider they are only in the state for 2 of the seven days of the week, but get taxed on their full paycheck? That's bulls#it and I'd think that could be challenged.
  4. That would be an expected response from 8th grade child.
  5. Your teacher wants to see you. She said something about knowing the difference between your and you're... unless English is your second language.
  6. Geez... Thanks for your expert scouting analysis. Can we grade all QBs on their two worst games. Should Marino's career be defined by the 23-0 whooping the Bills put on him in 89? Should Brady's career be defined by the whooping the Bills put on him in 2003? Should us wallers define you as total idiot because of your 8th grade level posts? If I've told you once I've told you a dozen times... You are going to warm up to Nassib quickly.
  7. To many, how he appeared... slouched, mumbling, etc may be unsettling. Understood. But, like I said, when he's in a room with real live GMs, coaches, and scouts...people that matter, what do they think? Thats the only thing that matters. And regardless of what many of them think, positive or negative, Marrone & Hackett know better than anyone. And, Buddy has shot down the Thruway a lot over the past two years to watch Nassib. He's seen him more Nassib than any of the other QBs and probably more tham any other GM. There's a reason he kept going back to see him play. If they draft him, its because they know what they are getting and trust him more than any other qb coming out. If they don't draft him they believe there is a better qb out there that is a better fit for them. At the end of the day it doesn't come down to how he behaves on a tv show with Jon Gruden, Dancing with the Stars, or Swamp People. What matters is what goes on between the lines. At the end of the day does he get the job done? It doesn't matter if he's pretty or meet everyone's visual expectation.
  8. Great measureables. He's been in the league for a couple of years and hasn't done s#it amd there is no evidence he'll do s#it this year. Reminds me of all the measureables of this years qbs in the draft. Thats all great, but if you aint got it between the ears and dont have the passion or will to do what it takes it to be good, its meaninhless.
  9. Before the new 'head down' rule for rb, I'd have said Byrd would be way overpaid to get a $8-9m contract/ yr. I say that because Byrd is not as impactful as Reed & Polomalu were at the same career stage. With the new head down rule, that would be an advantage for Byrd... or so it would seem, depending on the type of defense he's in. I still dont't think Byrd is the Best fit for the Bills new aggressive and physical defense. Byrd's best years were in a 4-3 and, in particular the cover 2. Which brings to mind Dallas. If Dallas has room under the cap for Byrd, giving up a first round pick might make sense for them. But, then again, couldn't they make out just as well by selecting a top safety in the middle of rd. 1 and saving a lot of money? Vaccaro aint worth the #8, but might be worth it from 13 on. In the end though, I just don't see the Bills signing Byrd to a big contract. I think he plays out this year for the Bills and signs somewhere else next year... and it's hard to imagine a team that one send a #1 to the Bills and have to sign Byrd for big money.
  10. I can understand the need for ss, but why so high, especially with Scott & Searcy? There are good safeties up through rd. 4. As far as qb. There is no way Kolb lasts a full season. He takes too many needless hits and too many sacks and Jackson is horrible. Therefore, a qb is imperitive. One that can play this season, because he's gonna have to. You especially want him playing this year because a new coaching staff and young qb always get a mulligan in their first year. The Bills know who their guy is. If they feel they need to select him in rd. 1, so beit. If rd.3 so beit... but their guy better be there, and they better be right.
  11. Well, it wasn't a job interview. It's entertainment, and except for live events, there is no such thing as reality TV. It's all scripted. I'm sure Nassib has an agent and I'm sure Nassib consulted his agent and he provided his input. And, I wouldn't doubt that the agent may have had a say in what was aired. At this stage of the game, if I were an agent, I wouldn't want my client to look bad in front of a huge audience. I'd also say the 3 min. clip doesn't show Gruden wetting his pants over some of the schemes and progressions Nassib was describing on the tape. That won't make the highlight clip because there's no sizzle... just steak. Folks want to see the sizzle, not the substantive crap. We don't know how Nassib conducts himself when he's behind closed doors being interviewed by GMs, coaches, and scouts. That stuff is confidential and it stays within those four walls. He is an academic all-american and will soon have his masters degree, so he's no slouch. From the few years I've observed Nassib when being interviewed by the local reporters, he's always been the same... non chalant, responds to questions with short to the point answers, and doesn't offer much outside that. I don't think it's that he's uncomfortable in front of the cameras, but he certainly doesn't seek them out and doesn't really care much about attention. He's pretty bland in that regard and that's who he is. With Nassib, there is no sizzle... just steak. For him, he'd rather show you rather than to tell you. For the folks that like entertainment and sexy, that's a problem.
  12. I'd say comfortable in his own skin would be good characterization. And a few things I observed were that he wasn't intimidated by Gruden, he didn't dress up like a jock... he was wearing work boots, and he seemed unphased and as cool as ice. Not outgoing or introverted nor going off point or trying to mask anything. Even keeled and not offering much more than he was asked. And, if I was to compare his demeanor in that room or cast his personality to any current NFL qbs, I'd have to say Brady or Eli. Both of those guys would have been as talkative. I'll add that when you look at his body of work, it's solid. But, I think what a lot of pundits overlook is what I believe to be telling, and that is this kid seemed to have a light go on and reach a higher level of play over his last 7 games and finished really strong. 15 tds and one pick was impressive. I don't know what rd. or who will draft him, but he' s a keeper.
  13. Please. No thursday night, sunday night, or monday night game. This team is, and has been an embarassment for 13 years. The Bills need to legitimately earn the right to be on prime time. Right now they've done nothing to deserve being elevated to a prime time game.
  14. Not that Gruden's camp is the be all and end all, but it's just one more tidbit to add to the pile. Anyone that watched it and didn't come away somewhat comfortable that Nassib has "it", has a whole other perception of what an NFL QB is. Gruden was blown away with Nassib's ability to read and go through as many as 5 progressions in less than 3 seconds and make the play. The one's that believe that a QB has to do it with their legs and not their head must think it's a video game with joysticks and buttons. And the one's tht want to pick out a game or two that somehow shows how bad Nassib is, well, is just stupid with a capital S. Look at the body of work. If you want bad games on a QB, anyone can go through a pile of game tape and throw in any number of games that a QB looked bad. Here's a clip from the Gruden Camp on Nassib... not much to go on but nothing that would make you believe that this kid does not have abright future in the NFL. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9152175&categoryid=2378529
  15. Yeah. Nassib really sounded stupid and clueless as to what he was doing. Gruden could not believe how stupid he was. By the way, do you ever post anything that could remotely be construed as intelligent? Trollers have a short shelf life. Your act is bland and boring and expired several months ago.
  16. That will guarantee 14 straight years of no playoffs for the Bills. It seems Takeo jinxes any team he plays on from making the playoffs. Just sayin.
  17. Three things that I think raise or lower value from end of season... 1) Intel from multiple sources regarding character 2) Team interviews 3) Wonderlic & New personality test from combine. On #3, not sure about the Wonderlic score, but that new test administered at the combine isn't supposed to be available to teams until a week or so before the draft. Those results just might alter several teams slotting on players.... enough so that it may leave many scratching their heads.
  18. I won't ssuggest that Kirby doesn't get good info. But he may also get bad info. We shall see. Back in the day was then and this is now. Modrak isn't here anymore and Buddy's days are numbered. There seems (at least on the face) that with Ralph out of the way and Brandon fully in charge, what used to go on, or be the norm, is changing, or has changed. Also, there are tons of information out there... floated purposely to misinform and mislead. You don't know what to believe and not to believe. I've heard it all, as you probably have too... the mysterious corporat jet from OP to NC to meet with Cowher is just one that immediately comes to mind.
  19. If anyone knows much about corporate policy, especially on sensitive matters... and certailny an NFL team's draft startegy, you have to believe there are probably only 3 (maybe 4) people in the entire Bills Organization that actually have intimate knowledge of this so called "big board". Brandon, Nix & Whaley, and perhaps Marrone. That info must be held under lock and key and the strictest of confidence. They certainly may gather information from scouts, coaches, intel from PIs, etc. and their feedback in slotting players. But, those 3 or 4 are the ones slotting those players and will in no way tip their hand before the draft. Someone within the organization may have been privy to some of the meetings where scouts provided input and their recommended slottings and ran with that information as being stone cold lock info, or the receiver of that 2nd or third hand info may have taken it as gospel. Scouts don't necessarily have a good feel for how the coaching staff will utilize a player, nor see all of the information from every resource the organization uses and compliled together. Most organizations have this peiece of paper they call a "confidentially agreement" that is signed by the people they employ. And, people within organizations who have loose lips aren't employed there for long once that is determined... and that's probably why you see a lot of ex scouts working with the media instead of the NFL... because they can't keep their mouths shut. I know I have no idea who the Bills will select in any round or their opinion on any player. So, for anyone to suggest they have intimate knowledge of the Bills bigboard and then to float that info out there is a lot of bull$it.
  20. Marcus Lattimore. He won't play this year no matter who picks him up. He'll need at least a year to get back to where he wss. But, with Fredex and Choice getting long in the tooth, Lattimore could be a dynamic addition in 2014 (CJ's contract year if not locked up before) and not the major gamble McGahee was. If he flops, so what? Low risk, high reward.
  21. Please. Can't we just let Tebow go as a football player. He needs to get cut and move on to his calling and become the next Billy Graham.
  22. Agreed. But, he's not elite in that respect, nor does he play special teams. He was fortunate to have a QB like Nassib or he may not have produced the numbers he did. Kind of makes me wonder if Nassib had a Tavon Austion, Robert Woods, C. Patterson or Cobi Hamilton, would Lemon have had anywhere near the numbers he had?
  23. Sales has a checkered past. He was even booted from the team for about a season and a half. I don't see him getting drafted and I don't see the Bills picking him up as a FA. Lemon may get drafted late, and again, I can't see the Bills being a player for him. He has about 4.7 40 speed. For a wr that really doesn't offer much in the physical gift dept. or special team ability, I don't know how he'd end up playing on Sundays. I've alluded a few times as to the pathetic talent Ryan Nassib had surrounding him... and these two wide receivers illustrate that.
  24. Kyle Moore? You mean the batamweight DE that's 2/3 short of being a 1 trick pony?
