  1. It would send exactly the right message to the team.
  2. I looked at the link you posted, including the "Requisites of a Warrant" section. It says as follows: "[The warrant] must state that the person is accused of some offense against the laws of the State, naming the offense." In this instance "accused of some offense" is most certainly synonymous with "charged with a crime". I don't believe there is any meaningful distinction between being "accused" by the state and "charged". Since an arrest warrant was issued for Miller, that warrant had to list the crime he was accused of, which we understand was a third degree felony assault. He was taken into custody and released on bail. I don't know how anyone could contend that he has not been formally charged with a crime. Doesn't mean he'll stand trial or be indicted, or whatever, but I don't think there's any question that he's been "charged".
  3. Admittedly, criminal law is not my specialty, but I have no idea how one can be arrested, taken into custody, and forced to post bond without actually being charged with a crime.
  4. Are we really going to do this again? Von Miller has been charged with a third degree felony assault. (A quick google search will confirm this.) Miller was arrested on this charge and then released on bail. The charges are pending. So, no different than Ross. From CBS News: "The 34-year-old Miller faces a charge of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman, which is punishable by 2 to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He is free after posting a $5,000 bond."
  5. He’s been charged, arrested and posted bail. Who said he hasn’t been charged?
  6. No difference at all, except Miller is a star and Ross is JAG. And Miller’s bail was $5,000.
  7. Yep, pathetic response. I wish a reporter had asked him to identify the person…
  8. But Von was/has been charged with a felony assault. Not sure about Ross.
  9. You can’t. Von Miller has been charged with felony assault and released on bail. Those who say he has not been charged with a crime are mistaken. Those charges may ultimately be dropped, but he has been charged.
  10. Thank you for posting, but Peter King is a blowhard idiot. No one cares how offended you are, Pete. And the idea that the stadium money should be in jeopardy for a dumb coach’s dumb comment is just straight-up asinine.
  11. No, they don't need to have such a policy, but they should if they want to prevent that sort of thing from happening.
  12. Ok, fair enough. But did the Bills have a policy regarding such gifts? Given the amount of money the players have, if the organization was concerned about the real or perceived conflict of interest created by gifts like this, then you would expect there to be a "no gift" policy, or a limit on such gifts. Policies like that are common in corporate America...
  13. That's a fair point, but if all of the receivers pitched in and paid for the truck, then the conflict of interest risk is minimized. I'm also not sure how much say Hall would have had regarding playing time or who was making the roster.
  14. Even before he went to KC, Reid won a hell of a lot more than McDermott has. He reached four straight NFC Championship games. And he was eventually fired, despite a level of success far exceeding McDermott's, after which Philly finally got "over the hump".
  15. Smith was with Baltimore by then…
  16. Goodwin and Bobby Woods still in the league…not sure about Sammy
  17. On Fan Duel, we’ve gone from +500 to +340 since Monday. Pretty big jump…
  18. Even the best AFC playoff teams are nowhere near as good as the top teams in the past few years.
  19. Back-to-back home losses to 2-win teams…good lord. The Steelers belong nowhere near the playoffs.
  20. All they need is a DPI
  21. Well, I think our chance of making the playoffs went up a few percentage points tonight…I’ll take it
